Van Bommel

Searched, couldn't find a thread.

The agent of Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel claims Liverpool have made an enquiry about the player but better offers have come in from elsewhere.

The Dutch midfielder is out of contract in the summer and unlikely to sign a new deal with the reigning German champions.

Van Bommel could leave this month should the right offer come in, and his agent Mino Raiola revealed there is competition for his signature.

"I know about Liverpool's interest, but other offers are currently more interesting," Raiola told Germany's Bild newspaper.

Bayern's Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg and Serie A leaders AC Milan are understood to be keen on the 33-year-old, and Raiola says he is working on placing his client with a new club.

"I cannot guarantee 100% that he will stay (with Bayern), but there is no rush with negotiations - I just have to do a good job.

"I have got to find Mark the perfect club and we still have enough time for that."

Van Bommel joined Bayern Munich four years ago and became their captain when Oliver Kahn retired in 2008.

However, following the arrival of Luiz Gustavo from Hoffenheim earlier this month, there is more competition for his place at the heart of the midfield and he has hinted that he could be on his way out.

"You never know what the future brings," Van Bommel said.

"I am concentrating on Bayern while my agent takes care of all the rest."

Might help stop the rot until the end of the season.

But he'd be expensive and old and his contract runs out in June.

Johnson would have been the perfect player for them but he just signed for Blackburn

I don't know why City were or are still interested in him. They already have three defensive midfielders (four technically) and why in the hell would they want another one who is old and sucks?

If they're looking for someone to replace the 'kick people' aspect of Mascherano's game then he's a great shout.

Corrected.

Heard VDV was enticing him to Spurs...

Signed today for AC Milan, he said "I couldn't stand Van Gaal anymore"

What a cnut.

Could be a good transfer for Milan though. They could do with these types of players considering the bunch of pussies playing for them.

That's more like it, I was getting worried with all the 24 year old signings.

he is a dirty thug, all he does is keep fouling players.

To be completely honest, they have signed a lot of young players recently so signing one older player won't hurt them. Van Bommel is pretty average though but seeing as Gattuso has basically ceased to exist, he might be useful.

This.

Every team needs a player like him, he can be dirty but he's really intelligent in the way he can manage to break counter attacks while avoiding yellow cards.Good signing for Milan

That must mean that one of Gattuso, Ambrosini or Flamini will be leaving Milan soon. They have too much deadwood in midfield and Van Bommel will actually achieve something, even if it is just destroying the opposition.

Wow. When will they learn. Sure he's a fine defensive midfielder but he's old. Stop plastering your holes and start laying bricks.

Milan have a large list of unavailable players. Resorted to playing Merkel in the starting XI. BIG mistake, that man is not ready for a high level of football.

Sededorf, Boateng, Nesta, Pirlo, Gattuso, Abate, Inzaghi, Strasser, Zambrotta and Flamini all injured. Ambrosini came off unable to continue while Van Bommel's red card is another missing player.

2-0 regardless :D
