Tickets went on sale this morning and all 80000 sold out in 90 minutes! I got mine in. It should be good, muse, the verve, kings of leon, prodigy are all playing. Anyone else going?

The Verve and Kings of Leon will be good, Prodigy will be average as usual and the less said about Muse the better.

Edit:Just to clarify I do like the Prodigy, well their earlier stuff anyway, just think they are shite live.

Muse, prodigy and ian brown are all playing on different stages at the same time. Which would you go for then?

yeah ian brown and muse aren't exactly dream headliners, but the verve, kings of leon, the view, and the courteeners should all be good, and kaiser chiefs stereophonics and the kooks aren't too bad.

With a lead singer who cannot sing!

Well I can testify to that fact the Richard Ashcroft can sing as I have seen him perform live and he sang very well indeed.

Have you seen him live Weaste?

No, this is my first time

It's a great weekend, get there early on the friday if you don't want to trek for miles everyday.

Prodigy played a few years ago and I thought they were brilliant live but then I was front row and the atmosphere was rocking. Ian Brown is a cnut.

Caled Followill can sing just fine.

Yes, and he's a shit vocalist on track. Being a good vocalist isn't what matters though is it, it's the whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

What did John Squire say about Ian Brown again? Then the daft twat likes Oasis, who have one of the worst vocalists ever. Swings and roundabouts. In terms of knowing what a decent vocalist is, Mehro has it right.

The Stone Roses, even though two and a half of the four were/are total wankers, are one of my favourite bands of all time. I will not however sit here and say that Ian Brown is a good vocalist when he's always been damn fecking awful.

Missed that 90 minutes by a whisker, desperate to go this year, feck - just have to scrounge

Bump

The news that Muse will have a surprise collaboration at V, being followed by the leaking of a track where they collaborate with The Streets is making me feel like I have been badly ripped off.

When your main headliners will have Mike Skinner on stage, your festival has gone horribly wrong.

I didn't know Skinner was joining The Verve on stage :smirk:

Meh. Muse are playing Sunday headliner spot where i'm going so thats the top billing IMO. Just cos Verve will be better doesn't change that.

Either way, what a wank collaboration. "As a surprise for our fans we're making our set worse!" isn't much of an announcement.

Yeah I'm at staffordshire too but I'll be avoiding muse at all costs so it won't affect me at all.

Mike Skinner played a few years ago and he's the only person I've seen booed at V.

Got back from this today, fecking good stuff from The Verve and Kings of Leon, to name a few.

Brilliant weekend all round, despite the Monday hangover. Just what I needed to cheer me up with exam results looming :nervous:

im sorry but V is the biggest pile of shite ever, good headliners but then the same old generic indie bands that begin with "the" filling in the rest.

load of wank

I like a fair few indie bands beginning with 'The' so thats not really a problem.

I agree its not one of the better UK festivals, but I enjoyed myself, so I was pretty happy with it.
