Pretty extreme just to play your xbox but each to their own.
When will you get it through your thick skull that the PS3 is quite some bit more powerful than the XB360? It just needs Sony to get their fingers out and release the software that they actually paid to be developed. I wouldn't hold my breath though, not until at least Christmas in any case.

I have both consoles and the 360 gets almost all of my gaming time.
The ps3 has been used twice in the last month and both times for showing my mates the blu-ray player and its high quality pic.
The cell is indeed a good bit of kit, but as anyone in the industry knows, most stuff will be ports of 360/pc games.
All games are actually developed on the PC and ported over to consoles, so they are all pretty much the same thing. It's only going to be the single platform stuff that will be good.
Gran Tourismo on the PS3 will be divine. I am waiting....

No, it's not, it simply currently has the best selection of reasonable quality software.

I've only got 360 and wii but I am quite happy about sticking with the 360 (even though it's been playing up recently), I like the gameplay, love the graphics and the games are fanatstic (can't wait for halo 3).On your point 'the speaker', I used to be a loyal sony fan but the fact that two of my ps2s broke (while my original xbxo still works without a glitch)really made me determined to boycott their products. As for the blu-ray, well the ps3 might be worth buying for just the blu-ray player because a blu-ray player can cost upto £1000, but i'm happy to stick to good old dvds.
There was something on the net that while dvd discs have double layer protection, blu-ray discs only have single layer protection and thus making them more likely to mal-function (because of minor scratches).
Just for halo 3 alone, the 360's worth buying and xbox live absoluntely kills play station online.
Halo 3 will be the end of my social life.

Loved it, hopefully a few improvements in the finished version but I still loved it.
I was wetting my self as I played it at the prospect of the actual thing. But if it was on ps3 with the blu-ray just imagine the amount of stuff they could of put in and how good the graphics would have been (5gb-->20gb

Defend Sony's rep? I've never owned a Sony console in my life.
Hardware wise it knocks spots of the rest, simple as that. Sony have done very little in any case technology wise with it. Its graphics hardware is nVidia, its CPU is IBM (and a total gem it is, even if a Sony idea - Sony could never have made it), Sony simply made the cocktail by adding Blu-Ray to the fecker.
All it needs is some software. Nobody really knows exactly what the Cell can do in reality, only Toshiba have shown it doing daft visual things before.
