I'm not sure if there is a thread about this already, but there are some great comics out there who I'm sure have yet to rise to the spot light, just performing in very small venues, and some which have that do the comedy rounds and only a few people know about.

If you have seen someone, drop their name onto the thread!

Edit - There are far too many great comedians which have made it that people are unaware of....thus the title change.

I'll drop a few on to get the ball rolling (although they have sort of made it in their own weird way)

Dave Gorman

Danny Wallace

Rhod Gilbert

Not really upcoming, he's been around years but for some reason I'd never heard of him. Some people don't like him but I think he's brilliant - Milton Jones.

Few bits of his on youtube

Yeah, from what I remember his sense of humour was quite unique and dry.

I think I saw a show of his advertised to start shortly on the BBC - Genius or something.

Ahh yes, I saw that in the paper the other day.

he's also on tour soon, and to do his 'green bit', he's cycling to every venue from the last!

Dave Gorman is absolutely brilliant. If you want some good reads, get his books, they're about 1p + postage on Amazon. I read one on a train a few years back, and looked like the world's biggest twat pissing myself laughing randomly.

I've read most of them and they never get boring, even on the 3rd or 4th read.

But we digress. Back to the thread!

I would hardly call Dave Gorman ''up and coming'' after best-selling books, sold-out tours and tv specials. I think he's already arrived

Dave Gorman has been around for a while, his show about travelling across America without using any big chain brands was very good.

Danny Wallace has done quite a lot of TV work too so I wouldn't say he is particularly up and coming either.

Rhod Gilbert is fairly well known as well. He's the one trying to get us all to go to Wales and he was pretty good in the Royal Variety.

Point noted and taken about Dave Gorman / Danny Wallace / Rhod Gilbert - although I did say that they had sort of already made it in my opening post...

Now get on with it and stop you're moaning ;)
