Variety have reported that Nolan's next project may be a film based on 1960s Patrick McGoohan-starring TV show 'The Prisoner'.

Any of the caf's elderly statespeople seen the original? A 2009 AMC reboot starring Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen doesn't appear to have fared too well.

Synopsis:
The Prisoner (known only as Number Six) is a former government agent who abruptly resigns from his job and is subsequently imprisoned in a beautiful, enigmatic and charming-yet-bizarre community -- a mysterious seaside "village" that is isolated from the mainland by mountains and the sea. He repeatedly refuses to give his warders information while attempting to escape.
 
I’m a caf elder statesperson. I never watched the show but I did go to a brilliant music festival in the town where it’s set, to celebrate my best friend’s 40th. Personal highlight was watching a Welsh male voice choir serenading the sunset, in the town square, while bent all out of shape on a cocktail of weed, crystal meth and mushrooms.

Nolan is such a middle age dad that it’s painful. He should be force by NATO to do a comedy or a horror film.

A Nolan comedy would be the worst thing to ever happen. Any form of romance too.

But I think that horror would suit him really well!
 
Love Portmerion. Went there recently and stayed in the town for a couple of nights.

Actually going there New Years Eve this year as well.
 
Seen the show, been to port merrion more than once.

I loved that show, but I think it was of its time, and I am not sure how it would translate to the modern world.
 
Don’t think his new movie is going to be this now is it? But I’m very much onboard for a lead Damon/Nolan film.

Anne Hathaway & Zendaya To Star In Christopher Nolan’s Next Film​

Christopher Nolan isn’t done adding some serious star power to his next film at Universal. Sources tell Deadline that Anne Hathaway and Zendaya are set to star in his next event film. They would join previously announced cast members Matt Damon and Tom Holland. The film will have an Imax release on July 17, 2026. The date falls in line with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release dates in the past.

Looking unlikely that the new movie is an adaptation of The Prisoner.
 
Why does Zendaya get picked by great directors like Nolan and Villeneuve? She’s an average actress.
 
Yeah if anything she’s the one with the better credentials at this point. He’s got like 18 Marvel movies and then a bunch of complete shit.

I watched the original show. The charm of the show was the strength of the actors, and the odd Village in Wales, and the sentient ball Spot who would engulf people. Very low budget, kinda like the original Star Trek looks pretty dated but is still the best ST. I don't know if a film can do justice to the show, because it was week after week of scheming to escape only to be foiled anew. It had a Vietnam war critique in one episode, and a stunning conclusion - but unless Nolan significantly reworks the mythos, I don’t see how a 2 hour version would have anywhere near the impact.
 
Always excited for a Nolan film, but have to admit that I’m pretty underwhelmed by the casting on this one. Matt Damon is okay, done some good stuff, although I’ve never seen him as an acting heavy hitter. Same with Hathaway. She’s alright, but I never considered her to be a great actor. Holland and Zendaya though, very meh. Both are just in vogue right now, both middling to poor actors who have achieved a level of fame way above their ability. Half expecting Mark fecking Wahlberg to round out the cast at this point.
