So, as awful as it is to ask you to choose between your favourite players, I'm going to ask you to do just that. Blame @top1whoisman

Maybe your choice for best player is also your choice for favourite. But we all know it can be more complicated than that.

Similar principles to the 'best" thread. I've added a few more players, but if your favourite is missing - please add them here and I'll update the poll.

Tooney all day long for me. As Red as they come, one of the og’s, local, relentless & self-demanding attitude, scores bangers and big goals etc.

Well that was tough for me. I went for Jayde because in the end she is the one I am happiest saying she is my favourite - if that makes sense! She plays with joy, always gives her all, and is full of energy. Aggressive too, but not mad with it. Don’t get me wrong, big fan of the rest, but if pushed (and this thread is pushing!) it is Jayde.

Leah Galton.

Not only do I think she could and would play in any position in the squad if it was asked of her, I know that the performance would be of a good standard with all her qualities still managing to shine. Even before a ball is kicked I believe she will be at the very worst 6/10, that's her off day and that is a great quality to have. I also really enjoy watching her play.

Tooney for me "all day long" as well, although I came at this from a completely different perspective. As a Yank, I've been a big fan of the U.S. national team for as long as there has been one, and so have followed the international game. (My all-time favorite player is, and will probably always be, the great Mia Hamm.) I watched as much of the women's Euros as I could last time around, and (like so many other people) became enamored of super-subs "Tooney and Lessi Russo." (Sing it with me.) I just fell in love with the way they both played their positions. When I learned that both played for United I decided to start following the WSL and adopted United as "my" team. I was devastated when Russo left, but by that point I was all-in on United.

So, I'm not a fan of Tooney because she's Red: I'm Red because of Tooney.

Used to be Katie Zelem.

Hard choice between Looney Toone, Miss Le Tiss and Leah, but Leah gets it on charm.

I also really like to watch Miyazawa, Clinton and Geyse play, of the new ones. And Tullis-Joyce.

Now, that is a different perspective.

Most of us on here were already United fans when the United women's team got reinstated. In fact a lot of us were also women's football novices. Personally I hadn't been to a women's football match prior to going to watch United women at LSV.

I loved watching Ella (and Alessia and Mary!) at the Euros. It was great being at Brighton to see Ella get the equaliser against Spain in the Euros OF and at Wembley to see her get the first goal in the final. I don't think that win would have meant nearly so much to me, without the United influence.

I was at Wembley again to see her get our opener in the Cup Final - magic stuff.

Absolutely love this! You got over for an LSV visit yet?

Ella Toone gets my vote here. It's entirely the romantic in me, the many, many decades of United support - she just gets it. She IS it.

The Man Utd number 7 is famous - from Best to Robbo, Eric the King then Beckham, on to Ronaldo and now Ella. She is a legendary Man United number 7 and belongs in the same conversation as the rest of them.

My favourite thing about Ella is the way she says "Fine, I'll do it myself" and whacks one in that few have any business attempting. Opening goals against Newcastle and Spurs in the cup last season, plus the deciding goal against Leicester as well. Even when she's below par, goal of the season compilations will be 50% Ella Toone at minimum!

I like this way of putting it. I didn't bother justifying my choice, purely because I could have written an essay about why I like every player, but "charm" is such an apt word to sum up Leah.

No, but if I ever get back to the UK seeing a match there will definitely be on my agenda. Second choice would be to watch a televised match at a certain pub in Tyldesley....

It's way better than Old Trafford... Roof doesn't leak for a start!

18 people have voted for Toone so far. 18 people never post in this forum! I suspect Russian interference, disinformation and manipulation.

Anyway, @AmarilloMike ... are you planning to go to Villa away? I could actually make that game. Apologies if I have derailed a thread that has already been derailed.

I wasn't initially but it turns out I may be free and apparently it's at Villa Park so the opportunity to visit an historic ground (particularly for United fans) is difficult to pass up!

It's now a 16.30 ko as it is on Sky. That makes things a bit more difficult for me. Villa Park is a great ground. I was there last season for our 2-1 win. Good times.
