Match Preview
Manchester United take on Bolton in a game that the Reds really should win. However, the word 'should' does not rest easy with managers of football clubs. United should have beaten Zalaegerzseg in Hungary, and they should have also picked up all three points at Sunderland.
Already the talk is of Leeds on Saturday, Rio's red-hot return to Elland Road, but Sir Alex and his men must continue the professionalism that has seen them pick up three points against West Brom and Middlesbrough in some particularly rugged displays.
One thing that has been evident so far this season is United's inablity to build on a 1-0 lead. Whilst Sir Alex would take 1-0 wins all the way to Premiership and Champions League glory, it does nothing for the faint-hearted in the final ten minutes as seen against Boro, and of course, Sunderland.
United seem to be overplaying in parts, making three passes where one would do. The Reds are undoubtedly at their deadliest when they're counter-attacking with pace and efficiency.
United's form has been less than inspiring so far this season - but then the Reds always seem to start the season like an old steam engine taking time to build up speed. Once in full flow, Sir Alex Ferguson's men take some stopping.
If United can muster some of the football played in the second half of the Chelsea match, and at times in the first half against Middlesbrough, then the result will surely go the way of Fergie's men.
Butt now protects the back four with his tenacity and tackling ability. And Ferdinand has been a breath of fresh air at the back with his cool, laid back demeanour being the perfect guise for his pace and power. In short, he has taken a great deal of pressure off United's back line.

Scholes' out, Keane's out and now even Beckham is a slight doubt. I am hanging my head in shame for thinking we should have sold Veron this summer.
