Should be a good game...
TeamTalk:
Manchester United will stage their own version of the Community Shield as a curtain raiser to the new season against Boca Juniors.
United will miss this year's traditional pre-season warm-up at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, so will do their own thing on August 10 when they face the Argentinian outfit in a game in aid of world children's charity UNICEF.
Sir Alex Ferguson and United's Argentinian star Juan Sebastian Veron teamed up to launch the game which is expected to attract a full house at Old Trafford.
It is being played as part of the on-going 'United for UNICEF' appeal - a link-up with the club and the charity - which is entering its third year.
Ferguson has given the friendly his blessing, saying: "There has been a big contribution from the club over the past two years and it culminates in the game against Boca Juniors.
"The fans will recognise the occasion and hopefully it will be a great success. It is the first time while I have been manager that a South American side will have played at Old Trafford and it will bring back some great memories for Seba."
So if he is going then its not before this match at least it would seem - which would suggest not at all. But then, who predicted Stam would go.
