Should be a good game...
TeamTalk:
Manchester United will stage their own version of the Community Shield as a curtain raiser to the new season against Boca Juniors.
United will miss this year's traditional pre-season warm-up at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, so will do their own thing on August 10 when they face the Argentinian outfit in a game in aid of world children's charity UNICEF.
Sir Alex Ferguson and United's Argentinian star Juan Sebastian Veron teamed up to launch the game which is expected to attract a full house at Old Trafford.
It is being played as part of the on-going 'United for UNICEF' appeal - a link-up with the club and the charity - which is entering its third year.
Ferguson has given the friendly his blessing, saying: "There has been a big contribution from the club over the past two years and it culminates in the game against Boca Juniors.
"The fans will recognise the occasion and hopefully it will be a great success. It is the first time while I have been manager that a South American side will have played at Old Trafford and it will bring back some great memories for Seba."

So if he is going then its not before this match at least it would seem - which would suggest not at all. But then, who predicted Stam would go.

Blythy - why don't you just let me stick the news stories up on the RedCafe, you seem to get most of them from me anyway. ;)

My news article was up before this topic (11:39 GMT) :p

I get 'em from Newsnow, I have a window that refreshes every 5min, open all-day. If it's worthy of a mention (i.e. not from tribalbollox ;) ) then I'll stick it on the cafe.

Although, newsnow seems to mis-quote the 'posting-times' of these stories

Ahhh that must be it then. ;)

And you're right we wouldn't want any bollox exclusives going up as news on the cafe. ;)

Nor do we care for your spamming for the forum with endless cut n paste tabloid stories. ;)

Half the reason I come here, and it seems a lot of other people, is that this place has a lot of news first, or at least very quickly, and to talk about that news. But if you like I'll just post the links - personally I've got enough browsers open on my computer without having to open another one for every story that someone posts.

Shut some browser windows then Neil, how may eyes have you got ;)

At the moment I have 2 work related windows open, 2 redcafe windows, two redissue forums, newsnow, sqball, channel 4 bb, and a bb forum. Which mirrors the proportion of time I spend working too!

Good point - who's still playing for them? Is that who D'Allesandro plays for?

Get two comps on your desk like me... I have four windows on my laptop (work), and two on here (cafe & newsnow). Works a treat ;)

You're right, I was getting him mixed up with Riquelme - will he still be at the club or has he already gone to Barca? They're selling Facundo Sava to Fulham at the moment too.

I'll suggest that to the boss.

Riquelme has joined Barcelona and Sava has joined Fulham so I am not sure about what players they will have.

Newsnow's really good. Have it open all day as well. Refreshes itself every few minutes and with the ManUtd sort collects from everywhere, even RC now! Keeps u bang up to date.
Try it if u've never been there.

Hi everyone!

Thinking about popping down there in September. A guy I did some work for a while back has a place on in 'Turtle Cay'? on Abaco Island... he said I could use the place while he's in Blighty for the month. He's got a boat so I'll just have to hire a Captain for the day or summat.

I'll drop you an email if I end up going, I'll get the first ones in.

They have Ariel Carreño who is a rapidly emerging talent.</strong><hr></blockquote>

From what I have seen of them this season, the only impressive talent is Tevez. He plays on the right, either as RW or sometimes pulled further back (but not exactly fullback).

Strong, decent pace, high work rate and excellent vision and ball control. I saw him make a run from midfield, get past 4 players and shoot past the goalkeeper from a difficult angle. OK, that is not THAT rare. It's just that he didn't look down a single time, the ball just seemed to be strapped to his leg as tackles (the Argie sort! ) came from all sides.

Fantastic. I was recording and just kept running it in slow motion, he didn't look down at the ball at any point and, when he shot he was looking towards the penalty spot as if he was going to cross... BANG!. Beauty... :D

Abaco's where I is! I'll be away to the Caymans from next week for 2 weeks. After that... get here, you'll love it!

Well knowing a lot of you don't go to matches, any of you living in Britain have no excuse not to go really, the tickets are cheap and easy to get so do the unthinkable and go to a United match whilst you have the chance
And no I don't work for United ;)

Well thats good aswell but its also a chance for a lot of people who would'nt normally go or beable to go (i.e non members) and see the 1st team in action and stop the 'never get the chance to go' moaning like so many do
