United to sign joaquin!!!

we are about to sign Joaquin, the spanish kid.

i know this cas two friends of mine are living near Seville, and rumours are flying around there that this kid will sign by the middle of next week. Peter Kenyon was spotted in the city on wednesday night, terms were agreed almost immidiately cas betis are broke.

Apperently a 17 million euro deal has already been agreed, joaquin just has to agree terms. from what i know hes unhappy with betis and wants to move on. Personally i think hes better than ronaldinho. he can play on both wings and can cover "the hole" behind ruud. i really hope that this transfer will go through!!
 
from what i know its true, everybody is trying to keep it quiet, but the betis fans are apperently going crazy over the transfer.
 
i havent heard of him before i must confess, so i took a peep at champ manager, said he's a defensive midfielder <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

anyway, anyone with info on the lad i.e pace, shooting ability, tell us all
i doubt it's true but it'll be intresting to know about him anyway
 
played for spain in world cup, was a revelation, is too footed,lightening fast and very very very skilful. madrid have been on the case for months but betis dont want to sell him to another spanish club.
 
seen asthough your the man in the know, what are his best assests, pace & skill?, on the other, would he fit in, would he form a good partnership with ruud and what are his faults.
I dunno why i maskin these questions as its probably just another rumour, but i might aswell.
 
There's something up here, I can't find a single thing in the Spanish press about this.

true it could be a rumour, for all i know peter kenyon could have been there on holidays.

Isn't he the one who missed Spain's penalty that cost 'em the qualification to the semi's ?

anyway, I find it hard to believe, we've never been linked to him (have we?) and I can't see why he would be unhappy at betis or why they would want to sell him.
 
Real Madrid want him to replace Figo. He's about the biggest talent in Spain now, and every spanish football fan rates him HIGHLY. He can consistently beat a man or two, scores incredible goals and is class.

He's been quoted hundreds of times in the Spanish press that he wants to succeed Figo at Real Madrid.

As is becoming the rage to put first names on the back of shirts, Joaquin is not his surname. his real name is Sanchez. Joaquin Sánchez Rodríguez to be exact.
 
He might be taking the piss, I dunno.

Seems strange to start one thread knocking the idea of big money transfers and then start another one with a rumour of a big transfer.
 
I've seen him a few times and he looks a great player. If he's what we need is an entirely different question.

Can he play LW?

Because we don't need another RW. We have Becks who's coming to form again and will always play if fit (but for a few matches rest to regain fitness). And when Becks is out we have Ole. I also think Forlan will be able to do a good job as a winger if given the chance. I can't see us play Becks and Joaquin at the same time and there's no way either of them will be happy playing every other match.
