First of all. This is a side topic under the main topic = United team building as a team and club. Relate to United managers, his ex Ajax players and United's weakness and problems. Some of the reasons why it hasn't went as it expected.

The link to the main topic:

https://www.redcafe.net/threads/uni...goals-to-the-team.482795/page-2#post-32463854

This post and topic shall be on the start of the first page. If i post on page 3,4 or 5. It might be harder to find the post. So this issues and topics are key factors of the main topic. United team building. Develop and improve United to become a better team. Closer and closer to win the league and be a more conistent top teams in premier league like City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Second, i want to introduce myself a bit. Like most peoples knows me. I am scouting. But i do analysing the qualties and abilities of a football team too.
You can call me a football version of a car mechanic. That is what we are going to do in this post.
You as a team. Send me your car "Manchester United " to me at a car workshop, where we are fixing cars. Ask a car fixer to find the problems and what are wrong with yours cars.
Analyse and find the problems. Find solutions to fix, solve and improve it = so it will work better as whole = improve the performance of the car and team.

And i am a honest, direct and trustworthy car mechanic and car fixer. It is mine field, road and expertise. So we will improve your car and team.

Now. Let us start to find the problems and weakness of Manchester United as a team:

+ Defend players and defensively you can always be more tight, more conistent solid. And your CBs are missing the top accelerationa and top speed in the first metres. It might be solve and improve with Leny Yoro coming back from injury. But no of De Ligt, Maguire, Evans and Martinez are really good in the first metres. With top explosivess. Example if you come up with really explosivess CF and attacking players. Yours CBs might be struggle.
And having a quick Manuel Ugarte in the first metres in front of your back line might help some. But he having play much. So Ugarte is still a question.

The biggest weakness in the defend is the left back position. Dalot is a good left back. Back up for Shaw and Malacia. But this is problem and position United can improve a lot. Why? I will come back to it later when i am talking about Ten Hag ex Ajax players.

+ The lacking of scoring goals and conistent goalscorer are United biggest problems.

In 7 league games. United only have scored 5 goals. Not average 1 goal each match. For a team like United that are aiming to become a consistent top teams again. United need more and more consistent goalscorer and assist players, in the team. The main main reason why United are there on the table now.
United are struggling to score enough goals to win matches and to get 3 points.

This is here i want to bring in the other topic. Which is : Which of Ten Hag's peak Ajax players should he got. I mean peak, not the versions of those players now. It's like we have figured out and find the problems of United team now. Which are solutions to solve those problems.
And if Ten Hag have those players, at theirs peak. Because our goal to become a top consistent team. We need top quality and ingredients = at theirs peak.

+ And those are the ex Ajax's players Ten Hag and United shall have:

Dusan Tadic’s stats. As Free CAM & LW:

Season 19/20: 2054 minutes 3 goals 4 assists
Season 20/21: 2010 minutes 1 goal 3 assists
Season 21/22: 932 minutes 2 goals 2 assists

For Lyon, league only
Season 22/23: 2995 minutes 1 goal 3 assist
Season 23/24: 2129 minutes 3 goals 1 assist

Sebastien Haller’s stats. CF:

For Ajax, league only
Season 20/21: 1570 minutes 11 goals 5 assists
Season 21/22: 2579 minutes 21 goals 7 assists

Others Ajax key players season 18/19. That reached semi final in champion league against Tottenham:

Klaas Huntelaar’s stats. CF. League only
Season 18/19: 1329 16 goals 4 assists

Kasper Dolberg’s stats. CF. League only

Season 18/19: 1459 minutes 11 goals 2 assists

Frenkie De Jong’s stats. Creative CM. League only

Season 18/19: 2517 3 goals 3 assists. Key passes 1.5. Pass success 91.1 %

Donny Van De Beek’s stats. CAM & RCM. League only
Season 18/19: 2442 minutes 9 goals 10 assists
Season 19/20: 1916 minutes 8 goals 5 assists

Ajax’s players that contributed to goals and assists season 18/19

Dusan Tadic: 28 goals 13 assists
Hakim Ziyech: 16 goals 13 assists
Klaas Huntelaar: 16 goals 4 assists
Tagliafico : 2 goals 4 assists
Donny VD Beek: 9 goals 10 assists
Frenkie De Jong: 3 goals 3 assists
Kasper Dolberg: 11 goals 2 assists
----------------------------------------------------------
7 players = 85 goals 49 assists

So what did those goals thats telling us?
It is telling us that all of Ten Hag and Ajax editions had conistent goalscorer and assist top server in the teams------> it lead to Ten Hag and Ajax success. Reasons why Ajax car was working so well. And reasons why Manchester United hired and appointed Ten Hag as Head coach.

Just look at Dusan Tadic stats. Tadic might be more important than Frenkie De Jong for Ajax. Tadic in 5 seasons in a row. Had average 10 goals and over 15 assist. And that man are still delivering those numbers for Fenerbache, at the age of 15. We are talking about true quality. When it come to create goals and scoring goals. On a top conistent level.
But in the others hands. Dusan Tadic did had top service and sharp teammates and finisher too. Like De Bruyne have Haaland. To helped theirs assist numbers. So those things goes hand in hand.

+ Now where and how do i put those ex peak Ajax players in United current team and XI line up. Still in Ten Hag and United prefer and most use formation.
4231 formation, potential line up:

Dalot/Mazza - Yoro/Maguire/De Ligt - Martinez/De Ligt/Evans - Taglifico/Shaw/Malacia

Ziyech - Frenkie De Jong - Mainoo - Tadic/Rashford/Garnacho + Bruno/Tadic + Haller/Højlund

There you have. United don't only conistent sharp goalscorer and finisher. But top conistent service and assist players too.

+ Sum up. What United need to fix to improve as a team? So the team performance and become a lot better

+ A left foot wing back. That back the LW players more. Come into the cm area lesser. Back the LW players to create overlap and 2 against 1 more. To passes opponents sideback more easily to deliver consistent top crossers and passes from the left side.
So a peak offensive left wing back like Tagliafico would helped United a lot. In the build up. A fully fit Luke Shaw over a long period will solve this problem too and improve the team build up of the attacks.

+ A controlling ball playing CM. A player and guy that bind the defend and attack as a team and unit. Without this kind of player. Every team will struggle to become a consistent top team. A CM commander and general. The mind and brain of the team.
I have recognized that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is aiming United to become a dominant team in the future, on a conistent level. Then the team need a conistent dominant playmaker and ball playing CM.
Because counter attack football and line up. Do not synonymous with how a dominant shall be. Dominant with the ball = Having the ball most of the time on the pitch.

+ Having top and consistent attacking players like Dusan Tadic. Someone you can rely on. Someone you know will deliver, conistently. Lacking of a top RW like Hakim Ziyech. A Mahrez and Cole Palmer type of RW. A top RW that have top level of goalscoring and assist ability

+ A a top and sharp CF that deliver average 20 goals a season

That are the problems and what United need to fix. To improve as a team. More consistent top players. Mentioned Ajax ex peak players under Ten Hag as example. Mahrez and Palmer as a top RW options. Because honestly United attacking players and RW are not conistent enough. And with a CBs and CM that are changing a lot. It might not help too.

Now. Instead of those peak ex Ajax players. United football teams and staff can find alternative and others options players and quality. Others top components and ingredients to put into the team. A LB, A controlling CM, A top RW, A more conistent LW and a sharper CF.
That are from mine analysing of United a team so far.
Of course. The decisions of the manager/Ten Hag does play big part of the team performances. But United are lacking and have many weakness in the team.
Trust me. I am car fixer and a football team fixer. Those are United problems and weakness.

In the end. United do have a really sharp winger in the club and academy. In Shea Lacey. But he is might 2-3 years to young. Maybe not fully physical develop yet. If Lacey get faster, stronger and can finish and score like he has done it in the acedemy and youth team. Bring those goals on the highest stage of football. United i think can have a solution there. Internal solution.

So good luck to United to find the component and top consistent ingredients to solve, fix the problems and improve your weakness, as a team. By for now.

It is one of those posts is it??

Simplified for you the weakness is ETH and his system which is always going to fail in the premier league because of the overall quality of teams, dominance cannot be gained purely by having better players

I disagree with the notion that explosive pace is needed across the entire backline to be successful, and also with the idea that you need to always have more of the ball than your opponent to be a top team - that would imply that the only top team in the land is City, or whoever Guardiola happens to be managing, which isn't true. There are other ways to play (and win) football matches. Possession is just one thing you can be good at.

That an actual left back, a great controlling midfielder, a reliable set of attackers, and a 20+ goal threat would help us out a lot, is irrefutable. I do question why it was necessary to go around the houses analysing Ajax to come to that conclusion, however.

There are far too many weaknesses with Ten Hag's team. It makes the whole idea of picking one player utterly futile

None - at this point, I'm so triggered by our transfer strategy over the last few years that out of principle I'd oppose signing any player who's ever set foot in the Netherlands.

That is a very long post.
But in a nutshell, I am against signing players from:
1, Borussia Dortmund - every player we get from there turns into a flop
2, Netherlands
3, The dutch league

Basically, anything related to the Dutch league or Holland - stay away. The probably of success is too low, so isn't worth taking the risk.

You left out David Neres and Lasse Schone who were both crucial for the 18/19 success when it comes to goals, assists and generally our way of beating the opponent's offence. With Neres we would have made the final. No doubt.

Have any members of that 2019 Ajax side went onto really tear it up anywhere?

Onana - Inter>United
Mazraoui - Bayern>United
DeLigt - Juve>Bayern>United
Blind - Bayern
Tagliafico - Lyon
Schone - Genoa>Herenveen
DeJong - Barcelona
Ziyech Chelsea>Galatasary
Van De Beek United >Girona
Neres Shaktar>Benfica>Napoli
Tadic Fenerbache

That was a really great crop of players at the time for Ajax and DeLigt, DeJong and Van De Beek looked really promising. DeJong has had a decent run at Barcelona but other than that none of them have went onto become established at a top club. Hopefully Onana, DeLight and Mazraoui go on to become great for United. But I hope from here on out we stop or at least cut down on shopping in the Dutch/Ajax department.

How many world class players have come from the NL the last 15 years? Maybe Van Dijk, other than that? So don´t buy from Eredivisie..
