against Lazio.
Man Utd are going FIFA to try to get the £12m still owed by Lazio on the Yapp Stam transfer. Won't it be a good bargaining point should we try to buy Nesta Or Crespo?

Good point, I think thats why Ruud has been such a success - those agonising months of pent-up desire to play for us really comes out when he scores - you can just see it in his face when he celebrates a goal. On the hand, I get the feeling that Veron just needed an escape from Lazio, and we just happened to provide a route out.

I was a bit worried about Forlan at first because of how he seemed to find it hard to choose between us and 'boro, but that has all disappeared now I've seen him play. In fact, its like he wants to succeed too much, and loses composure because of it. But you can see that he has the desire that SAF demands of his players, as well as the work-rate. When he has missed his chances there is no Yorkie smile, but a real pissed off look - he probably needs to be a bit easier on himself so that his confidence remains high. Considering his age - we don't usually go in for young strikers - I think he will become a fantastic player for us.

Oops, I've just made it another Yorkie is crap thread! ;)

personally, i'd get rid off BEcks for 40mil ..imagine: no more beckham fans! ;) :D

Do you think the beckham fans (and you'll have to remember that Giggzy is my favourite player) are any worse than some of the Keano fans? Maybe its the fans who are blatantly biased for and against players based on their nationality or looks, rather than on football grounds, that are the problem. Or even worse, those fans who want rid of a player just because of the fans he attracts. :p ;)

I don't want this thread to be hijacked by this issue, so if you want to have a Veron debate we can talk about that either in another topic or in PM. BTW I don't just defend Beckham, I've defended Scholes, Chadwick and Brown here recently. I suppose if anything I have a slight bias towards home-grown players, but I'll happily defend Forlan too.

What's wrong with Keane fans? My favourite players are Keane and Giggs (in that otrder, but then I'm nationalistically biased!). Only Beckham fans make shrines to him. :rolleyes:

Lazio sure is a puzzle.

Not enough money to cough up for Stam on time.
Think that they can buy back Seba?
Think that Nesta and Crespo are not for sale? (Tell that to the bankruptcy administrators!)

Frankly, I think that they want to get rid of Stam because of the scandal. After all, they didn't spare Veron when they thought he was going to be trouble for the passport fiasco.

Come on Nesta, you know that you want to come to us. Your staying for at least 1 more year is to lower your asking price and get you a better wage packet? Forget it and come NOW to enjoy playing on the world's greatest footballing stage, the Theatre of Dreams.
