Marcus Stewart and Tore Andre Flo will make their debuts tomorrow. Our new boy Lopez isnt in the squad (apparently) and niether is Fab. Scholes and Butt are out, and obviously Gaz is as well.

Manchester United Squad(from): Carroll, P.Neville, Ferdinand, Blanc, Silvestre, Beckham, Keane, Veron, Giggs, Solskjaer, van Nistelrooy, Butt, Forlan, Stewart, Chadwick, O'Shea, Williams.

I think the team will be like this....

Carroll

Phil Rio Blanc Silvestre

Becks Seba Roy Giggsy

Ruud Ole

:)

I think we shouldnt take this lightly as they got 4 gd strikers in flo, steward, kevin p., and niall quinn. Y isnt Lopez in the squad?

The two Strikers will get a good reception from the fans, no doubt. I think Stewart will partner Phillips, with Flo going back to his Chelsea routine as supersub.

If we played like 2nd half vs Chelsea, there is no doubt we beat them. Anyway a win should not be a problem

the last two matches Sir Alex made Ole in as a sub, will he be able to make it for the 90 minutes?

The team to be played doesn't really matter, we'll walk it!

I expect so. Butt and Scholes are out so the 451 is probably not an option for todays game.

Tore Andre Flo and Marcus Stewart could be handed their Sunderland debuts for Sunderland after joining for a combined £10m.

Sunderland (from): Sorensen, Macho, Gray, Wright, McCartney, Bjorklund, Babb, Williams, McAteer, McCann, Butler, Reyna, Piper, Kilbane, Arca, Phillips, Stewart, Flo, Quinn, Kyle.

Rio Ferdinand will make his Premiership debut for Manchester United, but Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes are both sidelined. Goalkeeper Fabien Barthez is on the mend but does not travel to the north-east.

Man Utd (from): Carroll, P Neville, Ferdinand, Blanc, Silvestre, Beckham, Keane, Veron, Giggs, Solskjaer, van Nistelrooy, Forlan, Stewart, O'Shea, Chadwick, Williams.

From the BBC Sport

A win is a must... the worst thing for us will be a draw, loosing will be catastrophic.

Common Man Utd, it's time to show them who we really are... :p

No chance Gary will take part in this match
another week or two before he will be back

Did Leeds play badly the other night, or were Sunderland good?

Their defence stopped Leeds scoring at ER, so no-one should write them off.

I think Reid will play Flo on the wing AS WELL as the other two strikers. Try to outscore united!
Could end up 20 20 like a playground game?

Well I'm not confident.

Not a chance with Rio mate! More like 20-0

I hope...

I think the Leeds result was a one-off. We beat them 4-1 and 3-1 last season and I expect us to tonk them again. We'll be 4-4-2 and it will be very interesting to see how that works, I'd expect Ruud and Ole to both score plus a couple from the other players. Rio's back in defense, and I expect him to have a great game (though it should be alongside O'Shea). Sunderland may play one of their new signings, but they won't gel immediately even if new signings quite often score on their debuts. I wouldn't be surprised if they got a goal. But I won't care because we'll have scored more.

sunderland will play 4-4-1-1 or some variable of it. i hope that MU come out in 4-4-2 with forlan getting the start.

Players in good form should play to maintain their momentum.
