The one played before the match today

Who sings it and where can I get it from?

Nothing on Limewire

They played it before the Inter match too, and some fans were singing it during the first half today...d'you think this is the Man Utd anthem that Ferguson wanted? ;)

"Take me home, take me home...to the place, I belong. To Old Trafford, to see United...take me home, United home"

erm, excuse me, lets get it right :D

Take me home United Road
To the place I belong
To Old trafford
To see United
Take me home, United Road..

Haha, pretty certain that you're right mate...I was trying to listen carefully but couldn't grasp it.

It could catch on though, sounds pretty good:cool:

It is a wonderful tune. Very old. I wish i could get the version sung before the game, it was good to hear.

United fans have always sang their own version of that song but I think someone has released a full length united version with a few verses as well as the chorus which they now play over the tannoy at OT. It struck me as a bit cheesy to be honest

who has the full length united version then?

Exactly, the chorus has been sung for ages but sunday was the first time id heard a full version of the song, sounded cheesy in parts but wouldnt mind getting hold of it.

Prefer united calypso as a terrace chant tho.

do ya guys sing along with the the crowd on the telly sometimes

More of a whistler and a hummer meslf. :)

As for United Roads, they played it at Wembley after the penalties.

I like it well enough, but then i also like the John Denver version. The only problem i see with it, is taht even when the crowd are giving it everything, it's not the kind of song that lifts the roof off the place like some others.

Sorry for going a tad OT here, still music related. But what the hell was the Premier League's attempt at pomp and ceremony before the game all about? The fair play handshake and all that. Their stab at a CL type anthem last year was annoying at first, but you got used to it, this new stuff though, well it's crap basically.

Yup, typical Premier League..

Almost as bad as having cheerleaders and fireworks as the teams come out...

What happened to the good old players warm up, a rousing rendition of "your gonna get your fecking heads kicked in " followed by a jovial pitch invasion, a bit of random hooliganism then 90 minutes of pure shit football..

Just the way it used to be..

:D:D

All utter wank...

Especially the United rule one which is the most cringeworthy effort I think I've ever come across. It makes some of Pete Boyles efforts look positively brilliant...

i know .. but my kids love them :smirk:

thanks... they took it hard not seeing rooney and ronaldo week in week out

but have loved the FC experience, when they're not playing themselves and we can get there that is ;)

I miss it tbh, well most of it, and I hope that one day I can go back, but realistically I dont ever see it going back to how it was, so the week in week out support wont be there.

But when I do go back, for those games I dont go to then there will be FC United, and vice versa...

I get the best of both worlds eventually, as will your youngsters...
