The comments from Falcao's father I posted in the old thread last night got deleted for some reason. I can only guess it was because I bumped an old thread instead of making a new one, so for this bizarre story the Mail have concocted I started fresh. :D

Manchester United are considering a January move for Brazil striker Leandro Damiao.

Tottenham failed in a £20m bid for Damiao last week while the 23-year-old was offered to Liverpool on loan but the deal was considered too expensive.

United held talks over Damiao in February and intermediaries met his representatives in Sao Paulo Airport on Monday to outline a proposal for January.

The striker won a silver medal at the Olympics and was tournament top scorer with six goals.

Tottenham signed midfielder Sandro from Internacional in 2010 and had hoped that deal will help smooth Damiao’s transfer.

United bolstered their front line with the £24m signing of Robin van Persie from Arsenal this summer and also boast Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez among their ranks.

But Leandro is fast becoming one of world football's hottest properties after his star showing at London 2012.

Do not want. United already have an abundance of riches up front, why waste 20 million on this guy?

Buy all of the strikers, therefore nobody else has any strikers. I like it.

rooney, van persie, welbeck, hernandez, kagawa. enough said.

our next big signing has to be a central midfielder. unless it is ronaldo we are talking about.

Some of you lot sicken me, our tactic of buying every single striker, forward and attacker in the world is absolutely fecking flawless, and you're just shitting all over it. Tell me, if United have every hitman in the world, who will our rivals play up front? Defenders. They're not as good at scoring.

Why on earth would Fergei want another striker? Journo's are such tits. The transfer window is closed....so news is sparse...they will make anything up. Including the alledged preparing of a £95m bid from City for Ronaldo. I mean...bloody hell.....

I hope it's true, the Caf would explode.

Jesus, the window has just closed yet the merry-go-round doesn't want to stop. Just leave the rumours for now and concentrate on what we've got. There will be enough bullshit to get excited about come December/January.

Rooney off then.:).Can't see us doing any business in the Jan window.

It's SAFs new 'Siamese' formation.

You have a set of strikers deployed near the opposition goal to score goals for us

You then also have another set of strikers who sit in our own defensive area waiting to get into the best scoring positions before the opposition strikers do, and therefore foil their scoring chances

Leandro Damiao has confirmed that he had a "very good" offer to leave Brazil last month, but was more than happy to stay at Internacional.

The Brazilian striker is one of the most in-demand players outside of Europe and his reputation was enhanced as he top-scored at the 2012 Olympic football tournament.

Tottenham have made numerous bids for the 23-year-old over the past two years, but recent weeks have seen Manchester United also linked along with Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

Internacional president Giovanni Luigi insisted throughout the summer, and he reiterated it this week, that the club was not looking to sell and would only do so if somebody met his buy-out clause which is over £40million.

The player has now admitted that he did have an offer on the table to leave Inter - but he would not reveal the club in question.

"The value of the offer was very good for me and for Internacional," he revealed to BandSports.

"But it didn't happen. I think Giovanni Luigi is a great president and he knows what he's doing.

"I'm very happy to be playing in Brazil. I'll certainly leave at some point for sure, but not today."
