United are planning to scrap main road, and build a new 90-100 thousand dream stadium.

No way to get 100,000 fans in and out of that part of the City?

i did post this about 18 months ago befor i got booted of this site for say some home truths to some people, but it isnt main rd thats being looked at- to many problems with locals cant get enough parking and such, its edgley park stockport thats being looked at,the land around the ground is already being made ready the m60 is 2 mins away the aiport is nearer and the metro link is due to open in a couple of years in stockport i;m not saying i work at the planning office ;) but there has been an opp (outline planning permission)drawing for a larg stadium put in a while back - so lets see what happens :p

We don't, we just need to move the train line (it could go under the expanded South stand) and clear the terraced houses behind the South stand. Then make the South stand into a copy of the North satnd. And then fill in the corners to complete the stadium and have 92,000 seats.

Oh, and then find a way of covering up the scaffold like structures holding the roofs up. ;)

that would take to long. United should take the FA to the european courts, and get this banned lifted on standing. Then rip the seats out. Should get around 115 thousand in then.

problem is united dont really want to do it for a few reasons

1. they dont want to
2. they charge more for seats, even though more people at a lower price for standing should balance it out.
3. they built the new stands at a certain incline which they would have to redevelop if you were standing.

twats

FA, they could design a new South stand in such a way that the lower teir could be modified for standing (fold away seats) in domestic games if the law is ever changed, bit like some of the stadia in Germany.

We can't have a pure standing area, as UEFA won't allow standing.

never happen in the south stand the only place i can see it happening in the future is the front of the stret but i wouldnt hold my breath.

everyone knows the power united have if they wanted it the fa and probably uefa would buckle under pressure from united.

So why are the Germans allowed to stand in there stadiums.Dortmund fans are also allowed to stand during champion league games.

as far as i knew the german stadiums revert to all seating for european games.

put it this way if all clubs demand then uefa wont have a choice but i dont think the clubs want it again
