United on TV in the USA over Christmas?

I will be in Pennsylvania from the 18th Dec to 3rd Jan. Can any USA Reds tell me how I can see United games in the USA over the Christmas period please? I will probably only have access to the basic cable package so I guess I'm snookered but can I buy one-off PPV matches?

Also, will I be able to get the BBC World service radio commentaries in Pennsylvania?

Dumb questions probably but it'd be great if I get get World Service even if I couldn't get the games on TV.

Thanks for your help.

They only announce games on the wednesday before a game at www.foxsportsworld.com, but they will almost certainly be on there. Find a pub at www.soccertv.com and get there. PPV games are announced on the FSW website and are $16 on ch. 719 DirecTV. You should get to see some action. Radio links are posted on this site before games. :D

I thought I saw that the Blackburn match will be carried by FSW. Don't hold me to it, but check the site:

No, just checked and it doesnt say. Like I said they dont announce these things until three days or so before the game.

Yes it does. If you go to the schedule for the week of the 16-22 of December. Shows that United v Blackburn is the match being shown next Sunday. Just saw it. Here is the schedule for next week:

http://www.foxsportsla.com/world/pdf/fsw51.pdf

Chelsea v Aston Villa is the early AM match on Saturday.

You need to get adobe acrobat. Go to the FSW site and click on the schedule for 16-22 December. It takes a few minutes to download acrobat but then you can view the schedule a week in advance.

Well PA is bigger than the UK be more specific, I guess eitehr Philly or Pittsburgh as they are the only places any one would go to in PA.

If you're in Pittsburgh then you need to got to Pipers Pub on Carson Street. They do greasy irish breakfast and all the prem games.

Pipers web site, go and find email address and email Drew

If you're in Philly I don't know anywhere but it's a city of 7 million people so you''ll definitely find somewhere.

actually it did not say if it was pacific or eastern. I am under the belief, because it has had the correct time for the match today ( 7 am Eastern) that the 11 am is eastern time. Like I said, it does not matter cause I work on Sunday mornings. If my boss is smart ( and what boss really is) he will let me leave as soon as my work is done and not make me stay the full shift. God I hate the hotel industry.

Thanks for all your info chaps. I am going to be in Pottsville in Eastern PA which is nowhere near any big cities so I'm just going to take pot luck with finding some bar that might have the footie on, or failing that (and World Service), I'll be tuned into the official match thread here which is not a bad substitute.

:) :)
