...according to Sky sources:

Nope, it's not news from few years ago. He's a French striker, 19 years old. Has scored 8 goals in the Championship so far.

Has anyone watched him play? Seems to be highly-rated according to Sky's Football League expert:

"He's still very young, very raw, Dembele, but he doesn't seem to get too much wrong; there's a real maturity to his play," Hinchcliffe said.

"I think with his pace, his power, his finishing on the floor and in the air, he's playing like a mid-20s player, which is quite extraordinary. He could be a Premier League player and it will be nice to see how he develops over the course of the season."

He's got a bit of Anderson happening in that pic.

Has he been described as the "next Moussa Dembele" yet?

A 19 year old French striker? No, we need someone who can make an impact straight away.

We were linked with him a few years ago, when he was about 16 iirc.

I'd imagine we've been following his progress since then.

Very highly rated youngster but I think Roberts was the more highly rated when they were both there. Dembele looked very raw anytime I watched him play before this season. He looks a far more accomplished player this season though.

I haven't seen him play in the championship but he hasn't really impressed me with France U19, I mostly remember poor touches and average finishing. Being highly rated he's probably better than that though.

I can't see him being ready even for a squad role in Utd. Maybe buy and loan?

Poor touches and average finishing earns you £300k a week.

I went to the game and saw him against Rotherham this season, he was pretty decent to be fair but didn't stand out in comparison to Jonson Clarke-Harris who on the other hand is a beast in that league but I don't see him being linked to us.

I don't see Dembele as being any more effective than Wilson, I'd rather see Dembele move to a PL club where he's going to play every week (if there is one) and then see if he's worth buying.

Hehe, the title got me.

It's funny that Dembele never was rated on the Caf. He used to slice through our midfields with ease.
I think he was. I'm pretty sure a lot of people (including myself) thought we should buy him to fix our midfield. He seems pretty shit these days so I'm glad we didn't get him

You're behind the times - this season he's been transformed - back to his strength-on-the-ball-and-dribbling-skills best - with his debilitating injury problem seemingly behind him. Apparently the stats show that of the 209 players to attempt 30 or more dribbles this season, Dembele has the best success rate (86.8%) in Europe’s top five leagues.

He's a first XI fixture at the moment.

Yeah I accept that as I have heard he has been good this season. Nice to hear he's playing well but I don't think he's the kinda player who United should be after. Would like to see Spurs get in the top 4....as long as its not us that gets kicked out!

Genuinely thought an old thread had been bumped, what with Spurs' Dembele being in such good form.

We should have signed the original Dembele from Fulham years ago, he was a perfect fit for our midfield back then. No idea about this new guy so cant really comment.

Why has it gone unnoticed that Dembele has been the outstanding CM in the Prem so far this season? Everyone is focusing on VArdy and Mahrez etc, to the point Dembele isn't even discussed in early shouts for POTY chats. Yet he's dominated pretty much every midfield he's played. He's been magnificent and Spurs fans are raving about him. Ali and Dier get the headlines from the English press, but Dembele has been their best player. Even according Whoscored's ratings, he's the number 1 CM in the Prem. Yet I've seen a few times recently where people have commented negatively about him, as if his great form is passing everyone by accept Spurs fans and those who watch Spurs games because they live with Spurs fans!

Yep. I haven't seen much of him of since then, so I can't really comment on the player much. I just know he was highly rated at the time.

Personally I haven't seen much of Tottenham. Heard Dembele has been great and I hope he keeps it up

It hasn't, anyone who's watched Spurs in the last few months will know that Dembeles back to his best.

This is a thread about dembele of fulham who is 19 years old. Why the feck is tottenham mentioned ? Do people not see the photo in the op?

He's his little brother. We are going for both.

People only want to talk about things they know and I doubt many on here watch Fulham or Fulham U21s...

He has good raw potential (based on what he has shown on his youth days) but so is Wilson and neither are more proven than each other at this point of time.I'd say we'll continue to monitor him unless we can sign him on a cheap now (why would he come to us though? He hasn't even really set the world alight at Fulham yet)

Can't say I've seen anything of Fulham this season but does he play as an out and out striker alongside McCormack or is he more of a wide forward? He looks like he's left footed and if he's pacey then it would be nice to have balance with our other young Frenchman.

When I saw him he was upfront and tended to come deep to get the ball, didn't look anything special but certainly wasn't out of his depth, Cauley Woodrow who came on for him didn't look any worse being fair and grabbed a goal. Dembele certainly didn't play as a wide forward in any way in that game.

Has there been a performance where he's shown he is United quality or significantly better than Wilson?

Manchester United have joined Tottenham in the race for Fulham marksman Moussa Dembele. Both Premier League sides are looking to bolster their attacking ranks, with United struggling for goals and Spurs having Harry Kane as their only genuine out-and-out striker. The 6ft striker’s deal at Craven Cottage expires at the end of the season and he is said to be considering his options. (London Evening Standard)

If we can get him on the cheap then I see it as a bit of a no brainer. Young, highly rated and unlikely to kick up a stink about playing time.

The Times have an article this morning claiming the club is looking at young talented players from outside the PL to fill the squad. They claim it's virtually impossible to sign players from other PL clubs cause there's so much money in the league. I expect us to be linked with signings like Dembele, Embolo, Sane etc.

Just scored another very classy goal for Fulham. That makes it 7 goals in the last 8 games. Deserves to be playing at a higher level.

mate was at the game, says he's a lot smarter than people think. Making great runs all over the gaff. Tottenham bound probs, with his contract situation, I'd imagine they'll try and get him on the cheap.

Exclusive | Chelsea make contact for Moussa Dembélé

Get French Football News can reveal that Premier League side Chelsea have today made contact over the possible signing of French youth international Moussa Dembélé.

Dembélé, 19, has Europe at his feet, with his contract with Championship side Fulham expiring at the end of the season.

PSG, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Juventus, Napoli and Bayern Munich have all made contact with the player’s representatives in recent weeks about a possible summer transfer.

Dembélé has had a good week on a personal level, having received a nomination for Football League Young Player of the Year.

He's from PSG academy and still a fan. If he wants a 3rd striker job in a big side he'll probably favour his hometown club.
