That's it, I've mentally checked out troops! Dunno about you lot...Nik(@Rood) and Ed(@That'sHernandez) discuss United's dreadful defeat away to Everton, before taking some listener questions on Pogba, Conte, United's player of the season and planned Glazer protests.

I enjoyed trying to research the Pogba question and still think it deserves a deep dive to have a go at pinpointing where it started going wrong. During my research I flipped between blaming Pogba to blaming the club and back again, so it would be interesting to look at it season by season.

We might have paid a world record fee for Pogba, but the reality of the matter was that we were getting a hugely talented 23-year old who was not the finished article (I think Allegri himself talked about what Pogba needed to improve a year earlier or so).

So we got a young player who needed good coaching and management, and since then let Mourinho (not exactly great in dealing with young players) and Solskjaer (who never belonged to those levels of management) handle him. Oh, and the actual coaching for a big piece of the time was handled by the likes of Carrick and McKenna (who I'm not dissing, but don't have a track record in developing talented players to world class seniors).

People also wonder what happened to Martial and what happened to Rashford. If they are not as talented as we thought, or if they themselves are to blame for what happened to them. Well, I can't rule out issues with the players themselves, but I can absolutely see common factors for both them, Pogba and just about any other outfield players we've had in recent years who either did not improve or his performances crashed: None were given the sort of management and coaching required at this level, for years and years.

So for me, we as a club are first to blame for what happened to them. Yes, I think we took great talents and turned them to shit.

Mourinho tried to build your side around Pogba, you cannot blame Mourinho for Pogba not working out. Typical mourinho teams have always had a main midfielder/provider and a main striker -

Lampard/Drogba
Benzema/Ronaldo
Sneijder/Milito
Pogba/Ibra
Fabregas/Costa
Son/Kane

There’s really only one player here that hasn’t reached their potential in his sides.
