@Vault Dweller I didnt realise you had such humming skills, definitely missed your calling there !

Mostly agree with the ins/outs - apart from Henderson, he's been so unlucky to have a wasted season after fighting his way to No1 last year. Still would like to see him get a proper shot as being first choice

I think or at least I hope that this summer there will be a "changing of the guard" type summer, with a fair number of players leaving (Matic, Pogba, Jones, Mata, Grant, Heaton, Bailly, Lingard, Cavani, and Greenwood).

Which does leave the possibility of a few signings, plus the promotion of a few exciting young players.

But one thing is for sure, this has to be the nadir, we have to rise from this point forth.

As for the Brentford win, the fact that we are happy is kind of sad, as with respect, these sort of wins, should be routine wins, the fact that they have not, and we have struggled against similar teams, is why we find ourselves with such a pitiful GD, and why we find ourselves so low down in the table.

We have to look to improve in soooo many areas for next season.

Good point, it is sad in a way and something that absolutely must be improved on for next season.

Now I could be showing my age a bit here, or perhaps I am being a bit arrogant, hopefully not either, but we should be seeing much more routine wins than we ha e in recent times, too often against sides that don't either have the budget that we do, or don't have the expectations that we do, we struggle against.

That has to change, if we want to ever get back to competing at the very top again.

I remember the days when we used to go into matches against "lesser" sides, even away, and just expecting a win, and getting that, nowadays, I don't get that feeling from any game, and a win these days is more a shock then an expectation sad to say.

If we can get more routine wins, next season, then that will make me happy, the games against City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are a separate thing, but we need to start to be able to beat the other sides, and be comfortable doing so once again.

Great show lads. Completely agree with you on Lingard. And especially the comparison to Mata. Mata has always given his all when given the rare change and mostly performed, while that has not been the case with Lingard, who has been very hit or miss with his performances.

Matic and Mata are both types that I wish we had more of. Calm on the ball and technical, much like you two alluded to.

The thing about Henderson is though that if Ten Hag prefers DDG we should absolutely try to sell Henderson now, while we can get decent money for him.

Yeah I agree, he is doing far more harm to his career by staying here and not playing.
I like him as a goalkeeper, but he needs to be playing at this age now.
