What do u think?

Premier League - I'll prob go with Beck's chip on Saturday, was awesome....

Champion's League - No doubt Seba's magnificent chip at OT....

ruuds second goal against basle was my favourite as we were drawing at the time it came out of nowhere and it shut the scousers up saying he only scores tap ins

Agree. That goal shows terrific skill from Beckham but many people seems already forgot. He dribbled pass a defender, and shoot with his left legs -- two things which are so rare for him :D I think it is even better than the sublime chip last weekend.

I like that one too.

1. Forlan v Southampton - perfectly struck, got us all three points
2. Scholes v Everton (his 2nd) - on the goal alone (disregarding its importance to the match) this is my goal of the season
3. Beckham v Birmingham - vintage Beckham, and could that pass from Veron have been any better?
4. Forlan v Birmingham - great volley, good work by Becks to put it back across
5. Beckham v Chelsea - beautiful ball by Silvestre, great left-footed ( ) strike

i haven't actually seen any of the Champion's League matches (damned espn), but i have seen some of the goals- from what i've seen:

1. Ruud v Basle (2nd) - "he can't get round defenders, and he can only shoot tap-ins"
2. Ruud v Deportivo (1st) - fecking bullet header after great team play

great topic.

top 3 for each comp. weve been in

Premier League

1) Diego v.s Southampton- Just put a huge smile on my face, purely cos my mates a southampton fan and he always slags off diego, not anmore :D

2) Paul Scholes v.s Everton- Just look at it and you'll see why, it sums up everything about paul scholes.

3) A tie between Forlan v.s Birmingham and Verons free-kick verses the Hammers. Forlans technique v.s Birmingham was as good as ive ever seen, reminded me of Eric the King's goal v.s the dippers in 96 cup final, just the way he anchored his body around it. Buetiful. And Verons goal was just brillianbt anywya, the curl and accuracy on it, leaving calamity stranded.

Champions League

1) This is very close. Veron v.s Omlympianikos (Home) just pips it- Just the way he made it look easy, with a quick flick of the ankle and bam, a superb goal by a superb player

2) Close second. Basle v.s Ruud (2nd)- And people say he only scores simple goals. Great footwork, and a marvelous finish from an impossible angle. Great

3) Seems to of gone un-noticed. Veron v.s Leverkusen at home, flicked it up and bang, bottom corner. Loved that one.

Worthless cup

1) Solskjauer v.s Burnly- What an amazing finish, anough said.

2) Forlan v.s Burnly- great run and a finish that prooves how confident he's become, a couple of months ago he would of bottled it, good goal.

3) Forlan v.s Rnet-boys- well theres none other that are credible to be hoenst, richardsons and beckham penalty v.s leicester werent much so diego wins by default in 3rd place.

So there we are

Thanks, I forgot about that site... I've been getting them from www.manugoals.com, but the server is pretty unreliable to say the least.

Off to see Veron's chip then! :D

Wow, the coolness with which he hit that... no wonder everyone was raving over it. However, I still prefer Ruud's second against Basle; as has been said here, it stuffed all the criticism of him.

Also, I can't believe I forgot Seba's free kick v West Ham. One of the best I've seen. That was how you would draw out an ideal free kick in a diagram in a book.

You obviously like chips then giggzy?

veron's opener against arsenal. great passing and movement and a very important goal.

diego's 'dudek' goal vs. bin-dippers was the most memorable, but my best 3 are:
1.beck's chip vs brum (i was in east stand, and
it looked like he'd just
chipped it into the
goalie's hands - at the
speed he was running,
it took incredible
vision, and absolutely
perfect execution -
imagine what we'd have
all felt if he'd
missed !!!)
2.veron's chip vs olympiakos
3.veron's free-kick vs west ham (another east
stand goal. we had
perfect view - sublime!)

That is an excellent website, I didn't know about it, and have been looking for such a website for ages...

sebas free kick against west ham and his elegant chip in champions league :D

All the goals mentioned are class goals.....i go with
1)Becks vs Chelsea
2)Seba all of them
3)RVN vs Basle

what about the great team goal scored by RVN his second away to Leverkusen

I cant understand those claiming Becks vs chelsea was one of our best goals of the year. It's a matter of opinion I know but it was deflected for gods sake!

Replays showed the Chelsea player's touch was minimal and it probably would have gone in anyway. As it was, it curled way inside the post...

Minimal? No fecking way. Desailly changed the height and flight of the ball. Whether it may have gone in or not is not the point.

If youre desperate to pick a Becks goal why not his 30-yarder against deportivo. You wont see a better long-range shot all year.

I'm not "desperate to pick a Becks goal," I was just explaining why I picked it despite the fact that it was a deflection. IMO, he would have scored anyway. Besides, this goal deserves a mention just for the ball from Silvestre.

becks vs b'ham was pure class
a bit higher it would gone up
a bit lower keeper could have reached it
perfect.superb sublime chip

no one does that better than beckham

Forlan's first away-goal against 'Pool.

By far.

It's not Forlans achievement that I get tears in my eyes when I watch it.

It's the goalie's fantastic attempt to grab the ball...

;)

Gazza, the title of this thread is "goal of the season".

If the title is "goal of the year", I'll certainly pick Beck's goal against Deportivo or West Ham last season. You cannot see this kind of goal anywhere else in this world.
