United plan swoop for Barca starlet

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will attempt to land Barcelona youngster Bojan next summer as he sets about adding more young talent to an Old Trafford squad that could well do with an extra injection of youth. The Old Trafford manager has already set about bringing top quality up and coming talent, bringing in the likes of Chris Smalling and Javier Hernandez and will look to lure the Nou Camp man who appears to be struggling to win a regular first team spot at the Catalan giants.

The Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo heavily linked the Premier League club with a move for the 20 year old at the tail end of last season and with the much reported issues concerning the relationship between Ferguson and Wayne Rooney a need for a player of Bojan’s quality and potential has only increased.

Now in his fourth season in the Barca first team Krkic finds himself further down the pecking order following the resurgence of Pedro and the summer signing of Valencia goal machine David Villa. Guardiola will not want to sell the talented young Spanish international, not least because he is something of a cult hero with the blaugrana ultras, but the player himself may feel that a departure from the La Liga title holders is the only way he can go about getting first team football on a regular basis.

At present any action £15m rated Bojan sees in a Barcelona shirt is when another player is suspended or injured and that is a situation the pint sized starlet will not put up with indefinitely. (Bleacher Report).

Still in the planning stage. :D

Yeah, that makes sense.

absolutely what we need, what with Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Macheda, Owen, Welbeck, Diouf and an ageing midfield a young unproven expensive striker is just what the doctor ordered.

Total bullshit.

Rooney - Might be gone anytime if Barca / RM comes knocking
Owen - 32 Next year? Injury prone
Diouf/Welbeck / Macheda - Imo only 1 of them will make it, with 2 loaned/sold
Hernandez - I give you that
Berbatov - 30+ as well

Basically we only have Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, + 1 rotating youth/owen.

Besides, even if we do come up with Bojan, there's alternative to play Berbatov / Rooney deeper to anticipate Scholes leaving.

PS: On the serious note, let the muppet have their wank for a change

City will probably go in with an offer for him. Seems their policy to go for all past FM legends.

I meant he's not as good on the last FM.

I reckon Rooney's going if this is true. Berba won't have his contract renewed, neither will Owen. As someone said, Macheda and Wellbeck might not make it, Diouf won't and will be gone.

Bojan-Hernandez-Nani ftw

You think we're going to let Berba go on a bosman after buying him 3 years ago for £30m?

-10 in 09, what a beeeeast.

Anyway, he's decent, not great. A very natural finisher but doesn't have much else to his game.

His finishing has been anything but natural for a very long time now. He's not got much in his game.

Hernandez>>>Bojan

Well there may have to be a risk-benefit assessment at some point. For example a 2 year extension to his contract would cost £10+m, 3 years being over £15m. Fergie would have to forget about the £30m and assess whether having Berbatov is worth £5m + bonuses a year (since he damn sure isn't going to take a huge pay cut to stay).

If in a different industry you buy a big piece of plant/machinery for shit loads of cash and then 2 years later it becomes obselete due to a newer, cheaper, more efficient piece of machinery, you don't just keep it around and pay maintenence fees because it cost a lot to originally buy. You bite the bullet and hope to god that the new piece of machinery doesn't become obselete in a short period of time.

I still rate him as a player that can go a long way, but I cant see any sense in the idea that we'd be after him. We have enough prospects and if a first team striker is leaving we'll surely get someone with good experience who has proven themselves.
