United are apparently looking at a lin-up with Portugeuse giants Sporting Lisbon.

The article has quote from Carlos Querizos, so there must be some truth in it.

The general idea appears to be similar to the one we have with Royal Antwerp.

Great news if it happens. Means we can pluck up the best of the Portuguese talent coming through - most of whom are with Sporting.

Fantastic news. We're diversifying our access to talent, which is always a good thing. ;)

Very clever. Quaresma and Ronaldo(the other one :D ) here we come.
Looks like Carlos is continuing the good work.
I'm surprised in a way though. It's strange that a club that is a regular in Champions League\UEFA football would become essentially a feeder club.
is Portugese football in that bad a financial state? I had heard there were problems.

I think Lisbon are suffering like a lot of European clubs. It is always good to have close links with european clubs.

Throwing the net for talent further, very good.
Wouldn't mind us linking with one of the french and dutch academies also.

Although it does sound exciting I still wish we depended on our own youth program a little more.

I am willing to place my bet that should United go 11 out of 11 with English men in their starting line up, all of them will be included in the England squad.

A dream thought: United's starting 11 is England's starting 11.
