United A-Z Quiz

Couldn't get Q which was a bit embarrassing considering how much time I've spent researching that team. I did know the player but just couldn't get that name right.

It took me a while to remember U's surname even though I remembered the player so vividly — mostly because he seemed to feck up a lot in some game of his that I've seen. I did remember that we signed him from Arsenal and it was a big deal at the time.

To be fair I'd say only A, U & Q were even somewhat challenging? Maybe J but even that is a stretch. I would've loved to see some lesser-known & interesting greats from the past like Mühren, Strachan/Sartori...

Bit of a shame so many don't know A. One of our most ground-breaking players, although probably more widely known for his time with Forest and England. I interviewed him a couple of years ago and he's a really interesting, nice guy.

100%

Q was before my time but is a classic quiz question.

U was in the side when I first became a regular at OT. Lost his place to Steve James, who unbelievably was an improvement.

25/25. Didn't recognise the photos of Q & U, but there's only 1 player I can think of for each letter so that certainly helped.

100%. For me with two minutes to spare.

interesting fact, the first and last players Fergie signed were Anderson first and Zaha last, A-Z

But you could match me and beat everyone else? Getting all but one right gets you a score of 96%.
I got all but 2. Couldn’t work out Q and U. I guess I’m not old enough.

The rest seemed too easy tbh.

I was at Ipswich in Sept 1970, a record gate that day , 28,000, United lost 4 nil, and Ian Ure was centre half and he was, shall we say, less that impressive. To be fair it was a time when Busby had retired, Wilf MCGuiness was manager, and a lot of players were getting on a bit, Law, Charlton, Best was well, just George. Eventually a few seasons later they were relegated, but only spent one season in Div2, and believe it or not United had the highest home gate average in English league even higher that anyone in top division.

Yeah same as many others,
couldn't figure out U and Q.

A got me "oh ffs what was his na.... oh right." At the beginning I called him "Wes" ;)

Rest were too easy

I've been a United fan for about 15 years. Only got 15. Some of those lot i've never seen before. I need to watch a United History documentary or something.

Missed Q and U. Got 92%. Anything less then 88% I would have lost my top red status. Safe for another year.
