Uncharted query

Ok any Uncharted Caftards able to help me here. I WILL be buying a game today but i am unsure which Uncharted to buy.
1 OR 2

Reason im asking is, i have never played the game before and i want to know if 2 follows on a storyline that 1 maybe has?

Are there trophies in 1?

cheers i have 15 mins to find out
 
Buy both.

You don't HAVE to have played the first before two, but you should.
 
I'll start with 1 first then because i could see me jumping straight to 2. Because i see they are making movies and everything on it now. Does it play like Tomb Raider?

Quite similar to Tomb Raider, i'd just played Underworld and the climbing mechanics seem almost identical. Gunplay wise Uncharted is superior.

Speaking of tomb raider they're re-releasing Legend and Anniversary (plus Underworld on the same disc) in HD in March.
 
Personally, if I could only afford one of them then I would buy uncharted 2.
I will probably get flamed for this, but I couldn't get into 1 and I only played the first couple of levels. Uncharted 2 gripped me from the start, right through to completion.

Sorry Lance, It's just the way it is.
I might borrow it again and have a retry now I know how good the second one is. Problem Is, I haven't used my Ps3 for ages. I went to play GT5 the other day, it stung me for a massive update download and I got bored and turned it off.
 
If you liked the second, I don't see how you wouldn't enjoy the first. Give it another go.
 
Ended up with Uncharted 1 at a tenner preowned. I can get Uncharted 2 for 15 quid.

Trading Black Ops in this week. For it generally being a poorly made game. Get 27 quid for it now while you can

What did you think about

the jetski parts? Personally i thought they were a pain in the arse, especially because you had to stop to shoot.

Bloody good game, and once you've finished it you've still got the second for even more fun.

Thing is, the few things that were worth bitching about in the first one were either removed or fixed in the second one. I certainly wouldn't hold much against the developers for not getting the first one exactly spot on. Both games are absolutely spectacular, the second one being my personal choice for greatest game ever.

yea just after doing that level :wenger:

Though at the beginning of the game theres a scene where..
You are running through the temple and all the monoliths are falling across the old wooden scaffolding and you are running like the clappers...
I thought it reminded me of Crash Bandicoot ...then i realised its made by Naughty Dog

After much thought I too have decided I need to purchase said games.

Where did you get Uncharted: Drakes Fortune ? My local game stores only have it pre-owned for £15

Thanks. Platinum edition is going for £15 on Amazon atm. Although I can get a normal used one for £10 on there from one of the sellers.

Is it worth paying the extra £5 for Platinum ?
 
Best games on PS3 by far. One of the few PS3 exclusives i'm buying this year along with Twisted Metal and The Last Guardian.

Genuinely challenging sometimes on hard. That bit in the water filled room with all the pillars took me a ton of attempts to get through.

Oddly I've played through the first one way more times than I have the 2nd. I enjoyed them both pretty much the same I think.
 
I have Uncharted and Uncharted 2 both still in their cellophane on my shelf, together with God of War 1 and 2 remastered and God of War 3. I bought a PS3 with a load of games, and then never bothered to play them.

The second one blows it out of the water in terms of graphics. The story and gameplay bit is totally subjective. I preferred story and gameplay aspects of Drake's Fortune over Among Thieves. The melee in the first one was much better for me for example, they dumbed it down in the second game.
 
Gotta say i was nearly tearing my hair out over....

"The compass and 4 statues puzzle, not to mention when you come back to the disused church out of the vault...JESUS! it had to have taken me over an hour to find the way out!

you fool!...or genius... really seems a top game. The best bit is, theres a part 2 for me to play right away and nearly a part 3
 
I had a HDD failure and lost all my Drake 2 save games. I'm really looking forward to having to play it through again now.
 
BTW also got Uncharted 2 from CEX for £10 yesterday. Drakes Fortune estimated to arrive on MONDAY

Does it matter if I play the second game first ?
