Does anyone have it? What are your views on it? I'm contemplating getting it having been impressed by the demo. However, I want to be completely sure that it's a game that I would want to play for hours if I purchase it, and not let it be an impulse buy.

Is it difficult to learn the gameplay, especially the ground game? Is online lag-free and is the community generally good?

I got it and I had not played the other ones. I was addicted to it for 2 weeks and played through the career mode twice. The Pride stuff is great in it.

But sadly I was no good at it at all online and got destoyed so I have pretty much stopped playing it completely now

It was lag free. I got it on Xbox

I only played the one a few years ago buy what really bugged me was that almost all the fights lasted only a round. Has this been sorted?

I have it, its ok. Not gone online yet as I know I'd get destroyed and from the sounds of it you have dicks online. The career is repetitive as hell but they always are in these sorts of games

That sucks. With a bit of effort they could make an absolutely epic career mode.

If you've played the first two then don't expect much difference. There's a slight few new additions in the gameplay, but nothing to make it worth a purchase. Haven't played career mode. And yes it's still easy to finish fights early.

I haven't played the previous versions, though I did try a demo of last year's version at some exhibition and found the AI constantly going to the ground game, which I had no idea how to play. This year's amateur control system seems to have simplified this though, which is a good thing.

Ive got it and loved it, but into fighting games like fight night anyway.

Can get very fustrating with good ground game fighters, reversing transitions sometimes is a nightmare! but its great fun if you learn how to defend properly, and catching them with a perfect headkick / spinning back elbow is

Love the K.O replays, and the commentary is great.

If you can get it for a decent price and enjoy fight games, i would definitely get it.

The career mode ends after 50 fights, and you only generally get champion by around 40.

The AI in this one stands and strikes. On the highest difficulty Tito Ortiz didn't go to ground, and still battered me. Pointless sticking to the amateur system, you get no enjoyment out of it. Just go through the tutorial and you'll pick it up in no time. its all about the right analogue stick. Enable the stamina HUD too.
