Hopefully PSG can knock out Liverpool and Real/Atleti/PSG can knock out Arsenal. Don't care about others much.

Bayern vs Bayer should be really interesting. Bayer dominated them the other day but couldn't score so it finished 0-0.

Villa should be able to beat Brugge, especially with 2nd leg at Villa Park.

Great draw for Barca. All other big teams are on the other side bar a very underperforming Bayern. They have to be making the final.

Finishing second in the league stage was so much better than first.

Inter are a sneaky good bet to make the final, IMO. The Serie A flopping is the only thing giving me pause. Still yet to concede a goal in the tournament.

Barcelona has to be careful, they were lucky last game they played against Benfica and the ref certainly did help.

Hopefully they won’t feck around.

Barça Real final would be Epic.

Don't underestimate Inter. 1 goal conceded in 8 CL games this season. And what's interesting that one goal was at Leverkusen when they lost 1-0 and they could face Leverkusen again if they beat Bayern which wouldn't be that surprising at Bayern don't look that great.

Villa are the dark horses here. Emery knows how to make things happen in tournaments, and now they have Rashford!

Imagine if Arsenal & Real go through to meet in the quarters, & Real have a front 3 of Mbappe, Vinicius & Rodrygo & Arsenal have a front 3 of Trossard, Merino & Nwaneri!

They lost 1-0 at Leverkusen.

So there can’t be an all English or all German final, but we could have an all Spanish final, and a Classico at that. Seems like the most likely outcome actually.

Very tough draw for Liverpool, super easy bracket for Barça. Pool will have to play PSG, Villa/Brugge, Real/Arsenal to get to the final. Barça face Benfica, BVB/Lille, Bayern/Leverkusen/Inter to get to the final.

Not the draw Liverpool would have wanted, especially with them starting to wobble a bit. If they got an injury or 2 their season could totally derail.

Saka and Martinelli should be back by quarters, though?

Im still a bit wary of the stories saying Saka will be back early April. Maybe he will be, I just hope he isn't rushed back. Couple of doctor guys on X had a 4-6 month recovery time, so that would have him at the lower end of that.

Martinelli should hopefully be back, his hamstring injury didn't need surgery.

And we also have to hope we don't get any more injuries, which at this stage I wouldn't bet on either.

Yeah your CBs especially have to stay fit.

You're favorites obviously against PSV but a minimal defeat at their place and it could get tricky. Full strength you beat them easily but this current attack could struggle.

Agreed. Unfortunately the state of this attack all bets are off really, it's hard to do any sort of predictions on how we will fare.

To be honest, even at full strength, i think we are basically a quarter final team. We just don't have the forwards that so often can decide these cup ties at the business end of a competition, we all seen that after the Bayern tie last season and we've literally done nothing to address that since.

I’d make Barcelona big favourites after that draw.

Can’t see them being tested really on that side of the draw.

Only possible challenge is Inter as they’ll sit back and defend for 180 minutes and try and nick a goal.

I wanted Real Madrid but I guess that has to wait a round or two now

Here's me cheering the Dutch on to complete the trauma for the Italians and boot their last team out of the competition as well. Feyenoord giving both Milans the boot would be glorious. And PSV beating Arsenal would be very fun, too, alas I don't really believe in it.

Pretty meh matchups otherwise, most have a clear favourite. PSG vs. Liverpool is probably the one that I'd think will be the closest game.

Looks scary, but it's a cup competition and anything can happen. The old Liverpool team that won the CL had a mediocre frontline against the absolute elite of world football at the time.

Has happened many times in the previous format too. Can't do much about big teams underperforming.

By far the most exciting draw of the round though!
It has, but it does seem even more arbitrary now, as the places 9-24 have been incredibly close in the group stages and probably always will be.

I'm expecting Liverpool v Real Madrid Inter Milan v Barcelona semi finals. Any of the Spanish big two good enough to take out Slots team? we have already seen them comfortably beat Madrid in Anfield this season.

So Liverpool won the league confortably and end up with Paris, the toughest draw for their Ro16… While Villa who only made it top 8 thanks to Milan’s massive bottle job at Zagreb will get their Ro 16 against Brugge.

And? It’s a cup

Yes. It’s about top eight seeding not 1.

Hence why Slot could play a second team in last match and rest first team for league match.
He's on record as doing that because there was no difference in finishing first or 2nd in terms of possible opponents, not because the top 8 are seeded equally. Each team is paired with the next team.

Yes but he’d have done it anyway given draw didn’t distinguish between 1st, 2nd.. 8th. Most teams (in or around top 8.. or in or around top 16), couldn’t risk it.

And it’s a cup comp. Someone can put you out of the FA Cup then get City next round… then another good PL team.
