Are we keeping some of the lads back for the CL game midweek?

United won 1-0, Barlow the scorer. Didn’t watch the match but supposedly was a poor game, rumour has it that the notable absentees may be involved with the senior team tomorrow.

Source or just jumping on the bandwagon?

What's happened to barlow? Thought he was meant to be a good prospect.

My guess is that they’re resting for the u19 game against Valencia on Tuesday.

Why would Mourinho give Gomes, Chong & Garner time tomorrow, when they where nowhere to be seen vs Derby in the Cup.. Makes no sense.
My guess is, that they will be rested for the U19 CL next week. We have seen that before.

Watched the game 3-4 hours ago after being at work for most of the day. It was a strange game where no player really stood out in any way - normally someone does something special - good or bad. But looking back at the game I can't honestly find one United-player whom I wouldn't rate as somewhere between average and good. If I was gonna pick one player who stood out a little bit, it was one of the Norwich-defenders - think he was called Odusina. Lightning quick, strong - read the game well.

The goal was actually a good one - good work from O'Connor and Bohui to set up Barlow, who took the ball past the defender and found the far corner with the keeper standing on the wrong foot.

It wasn't a good game but this unit is starting to look solid at least, and without our best players it was a decent result.

Barlow should be on loan IMO. Doesn't play enough for what his talent deserves.

He's far too young for a loan, his problem is when he does get picked he's playing too deep.

Why? We've sent plenty of youngsters on loan at 18 in the past, as have many other clubs. I reckon he could acquit himself pretty well in League 2 for example. Lingard did at 19 and did very well and he was skinny as a rail.

Have we ? The odd youth loan maybe.

Perhaps 19 but Barlow is 19 in Jan and hardly playing, don't see the point myself.

Brandy, Lingard, Lee Martin for example all went on loan at 19 and they weren't the biggest lads. Don't see why Barlow shouldn't go soon.

Even if not league 1, surely we could find a Dutch or Belgian team or something that would give him a few games.

Got a lot of time for the lad, but maybe with the competition for his position it's just right place, wrong time.

Brandy despite looking like a Worldie when he was 13 was ever gonna make it at United, but Lingard and Martin were already part of the first-team squad when they went out on loan(Martin had made his debut as a 17 year old), so slightly different to sending Barlow out.

We could do with sorting out a deal with Antwerp again now they are back in the Jupiler Pro League

We send players out on loan after their level went beyond U23s football level, not the other way round. Barlow isn't even U23s starter.

Danny Rose was above reserves level when he went to Oxford on loan was he? I suppose tbf we didn't rate him and were trying to find him a club.

I think it's Henderson's comments about being desperate to go on loan and play that madee think about this. Maybe he's developing faster by training with Sbragia and playing the odd game, but I suspect proper competitive football would do much more good if he's physically ready for it.
