Fog in Manc today has been as bad as I can remember.

It was even worse in the 60s. The buses stopped running and you couldn't whistle for a taxi because you couldn't find your mouth.

I was born in the 80s but my grandad said in those days the fog was so bad when he drove to work in one of his first cars his mate had to walk in front of it with a torch because they couldn’t see more than two yards ahead.

Depends, they could drive back when the fog cleared I would guess. I’ve never seen dense fog sit all day and into the evening like it has today.
