U21s: Wolves vs. United

Looks like Ekangamene will play in this after not playing for Carlisle at the weekend

Amos; Varela, McNair, Ekangamene, James; Pearson, Rothwell, Rowley; Janko, Wilson, A.Pereira.
Substitutes: Rudge, Gollini, Kehinde, Harrop, Weir.

Kehinde is a 15 year old midfielder

I thought he was a 16 year old defender but usually when we disagree, you're right and I'm wrong. Regardless, it's impressive to see him involved with the u21s considering he's hardly played for the u18s. Lad must be doing something right.

that was .... bad Pereira :)

But magnificent from Pearson

Superb play by Pearson just now. Pereira really should be scoring.

Bloody hell, Jamie O'Hara? I'd forgotten all about him. He was good for Portsmouth in the Prem, IIRC, what's he doing down in League One?

Oooh, good chance for Wilson there.

Hes definitely a central midfielder he played against Liverpool for the under 18s a couple of months ago and hes 98 born because he played in the premier cup last summer Im just not sure of his birthday but think its June

Rothwell is a lot quicker than I have given him credit for

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by that energetic burst from him as well.

I know it's early, and with injuries and what not anything can happen, but Pearson and Wilson look destined for the first team sooner rather than later.

Anyone want to tell me more about Rothwell? He really looks like the main man in midfield. Seems to turn so quick and be so comfortable on the ball, reminds me of scholes a lot in terms of being on the half turn when he gets the ball. So tell me more please?

what is his goals and games stats this season for U18 and reserves ?

Read somewhat that Wilson is in line to be promoted to the first team squad next season. Can see it happening if Will goes on a loan and Chicharito leaves as expected.
Seems a bit early for that. Although the only advantage to the Europa League would be if we can give someone like him games.

Very talented player, highly rated too. He missed a large part of last season with a very weird injury, I think it was a hip injury that meant he wasn't even advised to go to Carrington and spent 4 months at home.

I'd liken Pearson to a later Scholes in the sense of being on the turn and passing and moving to make space, Rothwell seems a bit more high energy and carries the ball better.

Kehinde is tiny. Playing up front, doesn't look like a defender.

Well, there you go.

What a second half that was. Wilson's simply sensational. Injuries permitting, he could be a genuinely world class striker. Good to see Pearson getting a bit more freedom to influence things tonight. And I loved Kehinde's little cameo. Looks like a very confident lad.

Impressive. He's Nigerian though, which means he could be 16 going on 20. Although he does look young.

Edit: And he's definitely not a defender.

Varela and Janko really look like a Rafael-Valencia (before everyone hated Val) of the future down that right side.
Wilson took his goals really well (as usual). I imagine he will go on preseason and there were rumours a while back iirc that he was already training with the first team and I still love Ben Pearson.

Love the casual racism. Well done.

It's well known that African players sometimes have birth cert issues with players losing a few years in translation. See Mourinho's recent comments on Eto, or the infamous Freddy Adu. This kid looked very comfortable playing with guys 2 or 3 years older, but, as I said, he does look young. So probably nothing to worry about.
