Subs: Pereira, Lawrence, James, McCullough, Blackett

Cleverley playing for the U21's ? Interesting.

Wow Cleverley playing really is an interesting one. Our u21s is almost like Spain playing with no strikers.

Whatever happened to Nick Powell too ?

Was in training last week, but not playing for the U21's now.

I've never been a great Cleverley fan, but his precipitous fall from grace is puzzling..

How could Fergie have changed his mind about him so quickly? From midfield general heir apparent to complete exclusion overnight. It has to mean that SAF is looking elsewhere for our midfield future.

So I guess Cleverley not playing with the first team doesn't have to do with him needing a rest?

Hmm.. He might have needed a rest before and this could be to get him match fit ahead of Chelsea. Anyways, U21 football is less intensity than seniors.

Smalling played U21 a few weeks back before starting for the first team after a break.

Or another possibility is this might be to bring him back on the ground and give a reality check etc.

 bit over the top mate...

Could be 10 different reasons like.

I wrote a comment about our u21s playing like Spain with no strikers, no idea where it's gone.

Anyway, I guess it makes sense to play Cleverley, get him and Januzaj to have some experience of playing together.

Micheal Keane, Will Keane, Luke Giverin all there.

Marc Robins scouting too.

My offer of a stream for the U18's was a hit (to say the least!) in the last game, so if anybody wants a stream feel free to PM me.

Cole and Cleverley linking up so well so far.

I've only just put it on after the goal but this is how Cleverley needs to play in the first team.

He's playing like the senior player and rightly so, but he needs to do so on the first team pitch and realise he is the man that can make things happen.

That was some gorgeous midfield play between Tunnicliffe and Cleverley ahead of the goal.

Buttner f*cking loves this level - he is trying tricks all over the place.

Januzaj basically wants to drop deep all the time anyway.

We are playing some awesome stuff here.

Our lads are playing with so much quality right here. Best I've seen for a while from them.

I know right, I haven't enjoyed the u21s matches recently but this one has me enjoying it all over again.

Somewhat worrying question - where on Earth is Will Keane? It's been the entire season :(

No matter how many times I see Nicky Butt with a skinhead, I still think it doesn't suit him.

Lingard's playing really well as well. And this has been the best that I remember Cole play, which doesn't say much actually.

Sitting on the sidelines and watching this game along with Michael and Luke Giverin today.

Could have had a hat trick today if he was playing. The bigger pitches suit us a lot more.

The football the lads are playing here reminds me of the stuff the first team were playing at the start of last season. Lovely to watch.

I only just realised this is at Old Trafford. Howcome we're playing there?

Think it is mandatory to play certain number of games at your Home Ground in the league. There is another game vs Liverpool scheduled at OT too.

I didn't see, I was too busy telling verminater that he's in the wrong thread.

Wait hold on, I just saw Thorpe feck up there. I'm watching on MUTV and you're a minute a....

As I was typing that I realised that I had rewound the match a couple minutes to see the goal. I'm up to speed now.

Almost so beautiful by Januzaj, shame he couldn't have either got more weight on the pass or get it off quicker.

Januzaj did a Nani there.

Good point by the Commentator.

And we're underway for 2nd half. No changes.

I've put the Madrid match on, really good game.
