Might try get down to this. Hopefully a few players have gone on loan next week and we see some exciting new faces.

U18s play Newcastle away this Saturday morning also.

Why do you think players will go on loan next week?

More out of hope than expectation to be honest. Time for Brady, King, Wooton and Macheda to spread their wings imo.

Hopefully Januzaj is involved again soon. Has he got a bad injury record?

Missed quite a bit of last year but all young players are like that. Hes only 17 and quite frail so have to be careful with him. I get the impression the coaches value training just as if not more important for the youth team players development than these type of reserve games anyway. I also really hope he does play in this game though.

Angelo Henriquez makes the debut today, according to manutd.com
Wootton and Keane not involved, meaning Thorpe at center back and Larnell at full back.

Larnell Cole could play at full-back while Tom Thorpe looks certain to start in the middle of the defence. As expected, Italians Davide Petrucci and Federico Macheda feature in an exciting line-up.

United (from): Johnstone, Gollini; Cole, Blackett, Thorpe, Fornasier, Tunnicliffe, Brady, King, Macheda, Petrucci, Lingard, Henriquez, Veseli, James, McGinty.

I'd guess:
Johnstone
Veseli Thorpe Fornasier Blackett
Tunnicliffe Petrucci
Cole.......Brady........King
Macheda

Reece James, Frederic Veseli and Tyler Blackett have started at full back, and Robbie Brady can also play there, I don't think Cole will be needed in defense. Sean McGinty is another full back, he had his first start in the closed doors game against Wigan.

Didn't Tunnicliffe come on as a full back in the LC game? If so, perhaps that was a warm up for today.

Fornasier and Thorpe are the likely center backs. Besides Keane and Wootton, the only other player that's played at center backs is Veseli, in our first reserve preseason game against Market Drayton, so said the match report anyway. Well, and whoever covered for Veseli after he came off on 82 minutes.

Heading down to this one never watched the reserves live except for when they have played Everton and they use to play the matches in Widnes, watch them on the computer a lot and the youth cup when at OT but figure this will be something different for a friday night.

This is a Hernriquez debut right? Stoked, had no idea it was on MUTV !

Never even heard of Reece James before

Joined United: 01 Jul 2012

Younger brother of former United midfielder Matty, Reece performed impressively in an outing for the Under-18 Academy side at the end of the 2011/2012 season.

The defender produced an accomplished display at left-back in a 2-1 win against Stoke City and was rewarded with a full-time contract as he is expected to be part of Warren Joyce's Reserves squad.

James was at Preston's Academy after also being on the books at Rossendale United and Blackburn Rovers.

[From his profile on the official site]

He's had one start in the reserve preseason, a 90th minute sub appearance and another start in the aforementioned closed-door Wigan game so far this season.

Completely forgot about this. I'll be watching this one - would be great to see Henrique especially getting off to a flier.

Hopefully Henriquez starts, I just figure that Macheda will get the nod after being left out of the LC match. But maybe we'll use King from the bench and start both.

Sexy team:

Johnstone - Blackett, McGinty, Thorpe, Fornasier - Brady, Tunnicliffe, Petrucci, Cole - King and Henriquez...

now that would be a fun team to watch :) Physical, technical and a lot of pace

King should start, he's looked good this season and was MOTM for me in the last game.

I was hoping King would start against Newcastle, but I think Rooney being back knocked him out. So it would be a shame if he missed this one as well.

I haven't even watched Henriquez's youtube clips, so I don't know what to expect there, or if he should be starting.

Huh, I guess that was a heads up from the manager about Cole in defense, unless it's Tunnicliffe instead. Or Brady. Great to see Lingard in there, anyway. I'm sure Henriquez will come off the bench.

Johnstone

Cole - Thorpe - Fornasier - Blackett

Petrucci - Tunicliffe - Lingard

King - Macheda - Brady

?

Why not send Macheda and King on loan to open up space for Bebe and Henriques? Where is Bebe anyways?

I am surprised there have been so few loans to the championship this season. I remember SAF mentioning loan moves for quite a few players a couple of months back.

Bebe must be injured. Hasn't appeared since the season started.

The loan window is still open, so I think we could see some moves being made before January.

Lovely with the game tonight, just give us some minutes from Henriquez!

Any streams lads?

Newcastle apparently had a 12 yr old training with the U21 before the match, must be quite special.
