ffs in the same time as arsenal and welbz is playing :(

Will the goal keeper Pereira make it as a first teamer?

I have read some things on him but i have never really seen him play?

Poor so far, little better near the end but been too lethargic for the most part. Too slow, sloppy, and just can't keep hold of possession. Need to up their game in the second half, thankfully City haven't been great.

Doubtful, keepers rarely make it at big clubs. Just like Johnstone he'll never be given a chance, probably a few loans before leaving permanently in seek of first team football.

unlucky, only watched second half and we were much better team.....

What did they see in Sadiq, relatively poor player IMO

the saddest thing is, he was on trial before we signed him! So its not that they didnt see how poor he is from the first hand, baffling. There are 3 options in my mind:
a) like @J-Stander said, publicity stunt where both United and Salford profit.
b) our coaches are idiots
c) we are desperate to get one over City, tried with Veseli before and now with El Fitouri

I know we lost to City today but the football was worth watching until when the ball got to Sadiq down the right. Rothwell did more down the right than he did. Just a poor player for this level.

U18s needs both Reid and Warren so it's not like we have other options at right back.Make up the number player, no more no less.

i understand that we need to sign "number" players from time to time but when we do we should sign someone who is on the same level as most of the squad(like Dj Buffonge in U18) and not someone who will be the worst player in the squad or in that group of 3, 4 players that are way behind others.

I get what you mean.Buffonge isn't a make up the number player though, he got pro deal at 17.

It was a messy sentance but that's what he meant. That he isn't a numbers player.

cute but @khoazany got it right....
youth signings are pretty easy to categorize unlike the transfers that are made for the first team. You have 3 type of signings.....
Good ones, signings like Fosu Mensah, Pereira, Januzaj where they are in the top category of their generations. Will they make it here or anywhere else is pretty irrelevant for this story.
Flops. Signings like Fitouri, Veseli and specially the ones like Janko where you even pay for the player.....
Number signing, buying a player from who you dont expect to make it but you need him as your squad lacks in certain areas.

As its only early days for Dj it would be harsh to put him in flop category so i look at him as a number singing because i dont rate him and think his talents are pretty average ones.

I'd say have their eye on Buffonge as a potential star of the group, closer to your first category than your third. And dubbing him a 'flop' would be more than harsh, it doesn't make any sense - he's hardly played yet, and was one of the star performers against West Brom.

And I'd argue that regardless, youth players are actually much harder to categorise than senior acquisitions. The coaches certainly keep a much more open mind than you're suggesting, because these kids develop at such different rates and in unexpected ways. Lingard is a good example of that - he was always talented but would have been around fifth on most people's lists of who would make it from that group.

El Fitouri is wank though.

Its pretty simple, every talented player goes in the good one category. I know young players are unpredictable and they develop in unexpected ways(thats why i think its irrelevant what happens later in their careers) but never will a non talented player develop so much to be a good player. Young player can play poor because numerous of reasons but the talent will always be there to be seen.
As for Jesse, he was always a good talent, similar to Larnell in many ways, both good players and for me its not a surprise to see him doing well for the first team, just like its not a surprise to see Larnell in fecking Shrewsbury. Not surprising, just sad.
People think talent is the most important thing, its not. There is million other things that need to go in your way so when in a year or two we see Harrop, Rothwell and Angel Gomes being spread from EPL to League One im not going to be surprised. The only thing that would surprise me if we see the likes of Grimshaw, El Fitouri and Hamilton play some role in a successful United side for a longer period of time.

Categorizing youth players is difficult, almost impossible but i didnt do that, i categorized signings(big difference).

Buffonge is pretty much a "third tier" talent if you ask me.I'd group him in the same vein as the likes of Willock or Riley - good player who still do have chance to make it if they're developed well, have extremely good attitude and got lucky with their chances. That might change though since he has only played a few games for us and might not back to his best yet.Regardless he should be one of the main man of the U18s next season.

agree, have similar opinion(even though id maybe put them in the 4 tier) to yours but in my view their chances of making it are at the bare minimum.
