U21s: Leicester vs. United

Well, this team will be without Larnell Cole (Fulham), Ryan Tunnicliffe (Fulham), Will Keane (QPR), Tom Lawrence (Yeovil), Charni Ekangamene (Carlisle), Sam Byrne (Carlisle), Will Zaha (Cardiff), Fabio (Cardiff), Frederico Macheda (Birmingham), Tom Thorpe (Birmingham), Tyler Blackett (Birmingham)...and I missing anyone?

That even makes a pretty decent outfield 10!

Fabio Thorpe Ekangamene Blackett
Cole Tunnicliffe
Zaha Keane Macheda
Lawrence

There's no doubt that we'll be seeing a very different team to usual on monday.

I've only been following the reserves for the last 18-24 months or so, but have we ever had such an exodus like today's?

I'd expect Pearson, Goss, Weir, Wilson, Ioannou to step up to the U21's now and really cement places in the first XI.

Hopefully Andreas gets a game. Would be good to get him 4/5 months at this level with the possibility of him then going with the squad for pre-season.

Well, you can even put a keeper in there! Didn't Johnstone go out on loan too? Or did I imagine that?

Amos

Janko Love Keane James
.........
Pereira Pearson Petrucci

Rothwell Wilson Lingard
...............

Edit: Doesn't look so good how I've done it, but nevertheless we're playing a 433

Would Rothwell not be more likely beside Petrucci with Pereira further up the pitch?

It's how MUTV have it lined up.

Also, Schlupp is playing for Leicester.

Lou Macari just basically said he wouldn't have a problem seeing Wilson on the bench for a Champions League match.

Excellent line-up. Time for last season's academy stars to really stake their claim at this level.

Strange that Lingard, Petrucci and Keane are still there. Don't see much point in reserve football for them at this stage.

Maybe they're thinking of them as emergency cover for the first team, or they're trying to find them a premier league team to loan out to.

Mr. MUJAC said that he reckons Lingard is staying to be involved with the first team. As for the others - who knows. Keane's just back from an unsuccessful loan so I'm sure he's reluctant to jump at just anything.

Was Keane's loan unsuccessful? That's disappointing.

He started off solidly enough, then he had a poor game against Leicester and was dropped.

Was he dropped or was the defender he was covering back from injury?

Excellent little run from James and a really good bit of vision for the little pass too.

I would love to see Moyes take a gamble and throw Petrucci into a first team game.

Petrucci is bossing this so far for me, some of the passes he's making are fantastic.

Excellent half from Davide. What a fecking player he would have been had he not lost those 2 years.

Screw the first team. The reserves are our team to watch this year. Actual attacking football, one-touch passing, invention - it's glorious! And that's without an entire team who are out on loan.

Let's promote Warren Joyce!

Janko is a very exciting prospect.

Michael Keane is the one I believe in the most...he isn't far behind Evans, Smalling and Jones in my opinion
