Barclays Under-21 Premier League
Kick-off: Monday, 21 October, 7:00 PM GMT

For those who can't see the picture, starting XI as follows:

Ben Amos, Guillermo Varela, Tom Thorpe, Michael Keane, Fabio, Charni Ekangemene, Larnell Cole, Reece James, Anderson, Tom Lawrence, Will Keane.

Bench: Barmby, Sutherland, Weir, Blackett, Love

For the first time ever Reece James is among the players I'm quite excited to see. Seems to be in the process of going from decent young player to good young player. Watch him have an absolute stinker now.

James has impressed me a lot, didn't really notice him until near the end of last season but I really like the look of him. I don't see him having a chance for us in any position other than left back mind but I like the look of him.

He's definitely a long shot. But he's coming along nicely and he can play pretty much anywhere, so who knows?

I haven't had a chance to watch the reserves or youth team yet this season, apart from seeing some random clips of Wilson.

At least I'm now aware that Jack Barmby is still alive.

Stream please, normal source isn't working.

Edit: never mind, PM for a stream if you want one.

how many times is Danny gonna say "shadow of a doubt" in this game ?

Best first half I have seen from the reserves for a long time - and I have seen a few. Completely played Everton off the park and the football has been outstanding

Yep great play by everybody, shame there's nothing to show for it.

The martinez philosophy doesn't seem to have filtered down yet...or are we just that better a football team?

Can anyone tell me about Lawrence? He clearly likes running with the ball, but I dont know. I've seen him quite a few times now and never been convinced he'll make it at a good level

Fabio is carrying our attack much in the same way that Evra does. I still can't believe he isn't getting game time at first team.

Not a natural leftie, Moyes would rather play him at RB

He'll be decent player but I tend to agree, maybe not at PL level

We've been good but Everton have made it surprisingly easy for us at times.

I'm constantly surprised he gets picked. Today he's been better than when I normally see him, but still unconvincing. In the past I wondered if he was one of those players who was considered quite good then got injured and lost his way. I guess thats not the case then? Just not likely to be above championship level?

That would a great achievement for him IMO

Lawrence was instrumental in us winning the U21 title last season. We really couldn't score without him on the pitch towards the end of last season, and into the playoffs. He came on in the final and completely changed the game.

Some of that comes down to tactics, all those midfielders needed someone to hold the ball up for them. But I think he did a really impressive job, as he was only just moved up to the U21s at the end of last season. He came off the bench and scored quite a few in his time with the U21s, as well as improving our play by adding a striker to the formation when we were low on them.

He really should have started the final, and I think the game showed that very clearly.

Really? Although he's not as highly rated as others I think Lawrence has been pretty good for our U21s over the past season or 2. Think he's been consistently good for us in my opinion and has been among our best and most consistent players.

I have not seen a lot of Lawrence but whenever I did, his technique always stood out.

Which, imo, is limited thinking. Just because he's not a prolific crossing it early player doesn't mean he can't be a brilliant player for us.

he would offer us something different at LB but Moyes prefers a LB like Baines

I agree. He has a pretty good cross with his left foot too.

It's not like Moyes has given him chances at RB either. I would be fine if he was the first choice back up to Rafael but that's not the case either.

Definitely - I'd argue that he's not worse than Evra in that respect. Crossing early isn't United's game, and certainly not RVP's.

That's the worst part. What Moyes is thinking concerning Fabio in the team baffles me.

He's a very good allround player

Terrific player. I actually think he would make a very decent central midfielder also.

Is it only me or anyone else noticed Lawrence and Keane not combining well at front or rather not picking each other when there was chance on few occasions?

A bit concerning that the total control which United had in first half has been totally lost in 2nd.

FFS, the first time I'm able to watch an u21s game this season, and it looking destined to finish 0-0

Anderson doing good ?

To be fair I thought he was pretty good when he was on the pitch. Reece James and Fabio excellent. Cole, Lawrence and W.Keane lively. M.Keane immense at the back. Oh and I thought Varela was great down the right hand side.
