Manchester United Under-21s will strive to get back to winning ways when tackling Everton at Southport FC on Monday evening, live on MUTV.

The Reds have gone four matches without a victory since a key triumph against Chelsea at Leigh on 9 February but the only defeat during that period came in the Manchester Senior Cup at Bolton Wanderers.

Warren Joyce's side remained top of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League after last week's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford but the pressure is on at the summit with rivals Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea all capable of taking over if they win matches in hand.

Everton sit seventh in the table but victory would leave them only a point adrift of the Reds. The two teams battled out a goalless draw in Leigh last month.

With several first-teamers involved against Spurs, it will be interesting to note the make-up of Joyce's squad although one player who looks certain to start is midfielder Joe Rothwell, after returning from his stint with Blackpool.

"I didn't play in the first game against Everton as I was away on loan," he told MUTV. "But I watched it and they're a similar side to us in the way they play so it should be an interesting game.

"We played at Southport in pre-season when we had a friendly against them [a 0-0 draw] and it's a nice little ground. We'll approach it in the same way we approach every game. I definitely think if we win most of our games, we can win the league - that's obviously the aim and we'll look to do it."

Kick off at 7pm BST, live on MUTV

Falcao to play again?

I hope Falcao plays because I wouldn't write him off just yet. I think it would be an easy option but it depends on a number of things. I wouldn't mind Mitchell playing mind you as before the Injury, he was quality

We're probably trying to convince Everton that Grimshaw is Wayne Rooney by giving him the number 10 shirt.

Pereira, Januzaj and Wilson in the same team

Wilson with an injury after 1 minute...scary

Hope it's nothing serious

Scrappy game at the moment.. Everton closing us down very quickly, players unable to get even a second on the ball before there's someone breathing down their neck

Wilson's picked up a knock, going off for Harrop. Even Adnan's been limping a bit

Wilson going off injured.

Harrop coming on.

Really worried about his injury issues.

McNair scores.

Shambolic goalkeeping, easy chip into an empty net from the edge of the box after the GK messes up a FK

Scrappy game, and I think we might take Adnan off at HT too, seemed far from 100% after that tackle in the first half.

Kellett looks really good, taking up some great positions and generally defending really well too

Kellett has done well in all the games he's played so far.

Brilliant footwork in a tight space from Mcnair. Thought it Januzaj for a second!

Did Januzaj and Pereira just take the piss out of about four Everton players on the far side?

Poor decision that. How the feck is he suppose to get his hand/arm out the way.

Pereira's been great. Worked his arse off. Good attitude.

Quick feet by Pereira against Distin just then. Too bad it didn't come off in the end.

Does anyone think we'll sign Kellett on a permanent deal? Or is this purely a deal to cover for players we've loaned out?

Just logged on to mention that. Was sexy.
Yeah it sure looked that way. But due to my stream being a bit dodgy I couldn't quite see it all. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Maybe the trickbox video will feature it.
