When is the Elite League gonna starts? what team Man Utd sent for this tourney so far? The full u21 team or u19 team members mostly to again receive football education only?? ;)

The u21 is the reserve league

Where are City's Elite Development Squad?

Surely this would be the perfect stage to showcase their talents?

They're in qualification group 2, the lowest group. They managed 1 win, 7 draws and 4 losses for 10 points and tied for last place in their division.

Their U18 team was 2nd to last in their division.

Also, Southampton won their last game and made into the Elite Group.

The other group members are listed here.

So hang on....

The winner of the second tier league and the third tier league play each other for the right to play an Elite Group winner and possibly go on to win the whole thing despite not being good enough to get into the Elite Group in the first place???

What is this feckery???

Yep. I guess it's to give the teams who didn't make the Elite Group something to play for in all these matches that everyone will be playing.

Hmmm. Makes a complete nonsense of it for me. Nothing to stop the two other leagues having their own final stage games.

Utterly bizarre in every way :wenger:

I have to admit that I've never seen a tournament set up quite like this, in any sport.

They could certainly contest another trophy among Tier 1 and 2, and even play the winner of the Elite Group for a sort of Cup Winner's Cup.

Exactly. Spot on.

What absolute muppet decided this was a good idea? Utter feckwittery.

Have they announced what games will be at Old Trafford?

The listing on the United home page isn't showing any home games as being at Old Trafford yet... but the Southampton and Liverpool games are listed as TBC, so I would assume that they are the ones.

All but the Southampton and Liverpool matches are listed as being played at Altringham FC, i.e. Moss Lane, capacity 6,085 (1,154 seated).

I'd guess the idea is that those two, if qualification is not yet certain, will indeed be played at OT.
