Be interesting to see who will play up front with Keane and Lawrence both now out on loan.

James Wilson - or maybe James Wilson. Perhaps even James Wilson could be in with a shout

Very much doubt it. Big games coming up for him in the next two weeks against Burnley and Shaktar. Don't think they will risk him.

I was thinking maybe Zaha, Jack Barmby or Sam Byrne.

Johnstone, Varela, James, Rothwell, Ekangamene, Thorpe, Janko, Fletcher, Wilson, Fabio, Zaha.

Man Utd subs: Pearson, Gollini (GK), Pereira, Love, Rudge, Barmby.

MUTV don't have Pereira listed as on the bench, is he injured? Was looking forward to seeing him.

Starting to get a bit of joy down the flanks now....Zaha needs to learn to just play it simple sometimes.

Yeah he seems to always want to do a flick or trick. I like him though.

Been very impressed with Janko and James.

After a few too many flicks and tricks, Zaha made two good runs down the left hand side.

0-0 at half time.

Danny Higginbotham. He's been good since he started on MUTV tbh.

Ah, the Gibraltar national team legend? Makes a nice change from a certain person's "that's offside referee, it's offside, it's definitely offside" *replay shows that it was onside*

Fabio's seemed quiet to me. I think he's supposed to be playing more centrally, but hasn't gotten on the ball enough for my liking.

He does a bit of what Hargreaves did when I first saw him on BT sport, just talks and talks and talks, but admittedly he (Higginbotham) is talking sense. Hargreaves even explained that ice was 'basically frozen water'.

I think Fabio has gone back to LB now, and he's been more involved.

Damn, should have been a goal that for Zaha.

Damn Zaha connected great with that.

Ben Pearson on for Janko on 68 minutes.

If Moyes thinks Zaha isn't good enough for our first team - he is clueless

James Wilson's low driven free kick wrong foot's the keeper and beats him. 2-0

78 minutes gone and Andreas Pereira replaces James Wilson.

Oh, I see how it is. Wait until I go to have my tea, and then start scoring

Pearson made a challenge without Stowell referring to it as tigerish

0-2 FT

Good stuff. Great to see the u19 lads looking totally at home at u21 level.

A bit late as it has finished, Pereira did come on. Think Love wasn't on the bench in the end.

The rumours are that it's not to do with his ability...

And just in this game he's given the ball away badly in our own half a few times which could cost you at Premiership level.

I know the rumours. But if it were as bad as the rumours say - he wouldn't perform like this even in a U21 game.

Love was definitely on the bench. Sat between Pearson and Rudge. A bit disappointed Rudge didn't come on tonight. The fella's hardly been involved this season.

13 goals in 14 starts across 3 different age levels for Wilson this season is a great record

U21: Blackburn 0 United 2

Wilfried Zaha turned on the style as Manchester United Under-21s defeated Blackburn Rovers 2-0 at the Leigh Sports Village.

The summer arrival from Crystal Palace sparkled throughout and finally ended the hosts' resistance with an opening goal on 67 minutes. James Wilson, who has just turned 18, clinched the three points with a fine free-kick on his first Barclays Under-21 Premier League start.

United fielded Fabio, Darren Fletcher and Zaha, who all started in the last outing against Stoke City, but also included UEFA Youth League stars Joe Rothwell and Wilson with Charni Ekangamene moving into defence.

Sam Johnstone was forced to superbly claw away an effort by Jordan Slew after the ex-Sheffield United forward burst past a couple of challenges as the bottom team belied their lowly position. Gradually, the pressure began to build at the other end, however, and Matty Urwin's throw-out was snapped up by Rothwell to set up a Wilson shot but the keeper redeemed himself with a reflex save.

Moments later, Zaha collected a crossfield pass by Reece James and fired in a powerful shot that was deflected just wide before Rothwell was unable to control a defence-splitting pass by Fletcher. Although Raheem Hanley's attempt prompted another stop from Johnstone, United continued to up the tempo and Zaha almost profited when the ball struck the referee but Urwin saved.

Another sloppy clearance by Urwin allowed Saidy Janko to drift a snap-shot off target and Yann Songo'o headed a powerful centre by the Swiss wide man over his own goal. The last action of the first half saw Wilson force a fine save out of Urwin following some blistering wing-play by Zaha.

Little changed after the break with Songo'o deflecting Fabio and Zaha efforts off target while Zaha was unlucky to brush a post after a bewitching dribble eventually led to a shooting opportunity.

Johnstone did have to show his bravery by racing off his line on one occasion to gather a cross but a United goal became an inevitability.

Urwin did well to hold a Zaha volley following a Fletcher free-kick but the keeper was beaten seconds later when more great skill by Zaha allowed him to gather a James pass, play a one-two with Fabio and bury an unstoppable finish.

Fletcher was denied by the on-rushing Urwin but a second goal duly arrived through promising teenager Wilson. Zaha was crudely brought down on the edge of the box and the England Under-19 international blasted a left-footed free-kick into the bottom corner of the net.

To his credit, Urwin refused to be bowed and made a splendid double save to thwart Rothwell and substitute Andreas Pereira in the closing stages as it became a damage limitation job for the besieged home side.

United: Johnstone; Varela, Thorpe, Ekangamene, James; Janko (Pearson 69), Rothwell, D.Fletcher, Fabio, Zaha; Wilson (A.Pereira 79). Subs not used: Gollini, Love, Barmby, Rudge.

Love was definitely on the bench. Sat between Pearson and Rudge. A bit disappointed Rudge didn't come on tonight. The fella's hardly been involved this season.

Oh I thought they said in commentary he was injured, must have been talking about someone else. I like Rudge, he seemed to play more for the reserves the other year than the U18's, odd he hasn't played more.
