U19 Wc

They've been bundled out despite battering every team that's cross their path during the last year.

"All we can do is to go out there and give it everything and maybe Bangladesh might underestimate us." Surely some mistake? Not at Under-19 level it isn't. England's captain, Moeen Ali, isn't exactly optimistic about his side's prospects of reaching the semi-finals of the U19 World Cup.

I'm fecking ropeable.

Bangladeshi cricket fans live for these youth world cups.

To you lot it's a pretty forgettable distraction but we've been looking forward to this all year.

fecking furious.

Heheh they lost to english
India U19 is supposed to favourite now.

Eh? What about the current world cup holders (Pakistan)? Shouldn't they be considered favourites seeing they're still in it?

Dunno, just quoted what I read on the news article. No coverage here.

No India are the favourites, they've won 75% of their matches in the last couple of years, battering everyone in sight along the way.

Fair enough, but if India have been that good during the last few years then why were Bangladesh the favourites before they got knocked out?

Surely, the Indians should have been favourites at the start of the tourney?

Very subjective subject being subjected on us lowly subjects, wouldn't you agree? :wenger:

Interesting.. i dont know too much about this.. but its obviously it acts as an indicator as to the young talent of the respective countries. Hope some good players come out of it.

India's been the outstanding team for a very long time now.

Bangladesh have won 60% of their matches during the same period, putting them a long way ahead of the rest of the field, but have never come close to beating the Indians.

The last line of your post, although arguably clever, is unfortunately nonsensical. :)

Here are some ifs to digest:

If Pakistan beat India tomorrow, the final game on Sunday will be like a final.

If Pak u19 beat Aus u19 on Friday it could be Pak v Ind u19s in the Final on Sunday.

With Liverpool also playing Man Utd, it will make this weekend interesting.

Woohoo, we made it. We're in the Final!

Two Finals on the trot for Pakistan U-19, having one of them, and yet the Bangladeshis were favourites before the tournament. Hahahahaha.

Pakistan Under-19s 109 (41.1 ov)
India Under-19s 42/7 (12.3 ov)

India Under-19s require another 68 runs with 3 wickets and 37.3 overs remaining

They were 9/6 at one stage.

A truly gutless bunch of spastics.

YESSSSS!!!!! PHARKING PHANTASIC!!!!!

Two world cups in a row for the young lads. It has been a fairly good weekend.

:D :D

Being favourites for the competition :wenger: I would have thought Bangladesh should have done considerably better than just beating eventual champions in a meaningless league game.

I hope Pakistan are not the favourites for the next world cup too! :D

Did someone in this thread actually say we were favourites?

I can't be arsed to read it and I know it certainly wasn't me.

Don't know why you keep banging on about it, it's a bit bizzare.

Sorry Melbourne, not trying to wind you up. But there were reports in ICC webpages that suggested Bangladesh were favourites to take this tournament. After them, India were the next favourites. I couldn't believe this revelation then, and I am having a giggle at it now after the event.

The rubbish ICC guy who wrote that article surely must have his wrists slapped. Thank God I don't touch that site with a bargepole and I believe its ratings to be absolute cr*p (senior ratings as well as u-19s).

Don't know how they came to that conclusion.

India have won 75% of their matches while Bangladesh have won 60%. The next best team have won around 45% so you can see why we were fancied to win it. Never favourites though.

Stick to cricinfo mate ;)

pakistan has amazing bowlers, shame there batters cant be disicplined, they has a 18 year kid bowling at 86-88 mph, thats faster than the whole indian senior team
