U18s: United vs Wolves

I've seen Bradbury and Shah (and McCormack) play in some of the younger age groups that have been available to view. Looking forward to seeing them with the U18s.

I hope Lacey's absence is to do with easing him back in after so many injuries and so not risking him again so soon after Saturday's sub appearance. Was hoping to see him again but hopefully he'll be available for the weekend and it's not another injury issue again.

I thought that was going to be it then! So close from Bradbury.

We've watched the U18s, first team, U21s, now U18s again on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and yet to see us score (or at least one that counted!)

It feels like a goal is coming - but then it's also a continuation of that Newcastle frustration on Saturday!

Great start from Amir Ibragimov. Almost scored, won two free kicks, just won two strong duels.

While I'm perfectly fine with playing out from the back, a part of it I do dislike is when you see the goalkeeper on the ball, with no player closing down, and it being stalemate for a good few seconds (like what just happened here).

I love watching ball playing midfielders on the ball, picking out passes. There's something frustrating about how often we now have to watch goalkeepers just standing with the ball at their feet for so long while everyone plays cat and mouse with each other to see if any space opens up anywhere

Kamason at right wing back looks absolute quality.. Up and down the right wing, good delivery on him and good decision making.

I don’t mind it either at times but there were a few times there (especially in last 20), when we knocked it back 40/50 yards to the goalie. We’ve shown we can pass through the lines so I’d like to see more positivity and less safety first… I get enough of that from the first team.

Yeah, there was a really good spell with this U18's when we played ball possession but at a very quick pace and was a real joy to watch.

A lot of changes in personel, due to a mixture of injuries and players being moved up levels, has led to us not looking as good now that we've got a lot of players feeling their way into the team and less awareness of each others play.

Bound to happen obviously at this level, but less effective for now.

One issue is that we’re really lacking in direct wingers currently. Lacey and Mantato love to take on defenders, but lately we’ve been forced to play midfielders or strikers out wide and it shows.

Wonder how many kilometers Ibragimov covers per game. Absolutely everywhere, love his attitude and energy.

Yeah, good point.

I thought Lusale is meant to be that type of winger but we've seen very little of it so far in his time here. He's been disappointing whenever he's featured, and doesn't seem to get many starts.

Hopefully we’ll see him again tonight. Based on a small sample size I’ve seen him do it for his national team.

Yep. And also obviously very good on the ball as well.

Hopefully he keeps on developing the attacking, technical and end product aspects of his game but without losing that fantastic attitude and work rate.

One of Ibragimov’s best performances for the U18s, he’s been involved in everything. Unlucky to not have two goals and two assists.
