Still no other details anywhere seemingly. Had a PM from mambo who says Ajose got both our goals, which would make him joint top-scorer with Norwood.

That's progress - we lost 0-5 to Sunderland at home in the final game of last season didn't we ?

2. Moffatt
3. Dudgeon
4. Brown

8. James (capt)
9. King
10. Brandao

12. Thorpe

Sunderland scored early in the first half when a shot from the left was deflected into the net off Reece Brown. Their keeper made some wonderful saves to keep United at bay. Thorpe replaced Mottatt after 20 minutes as Scott picked up a knock. Thorpe went to centre half and Brown went to right back.We dominated the opening half but couldn't turn our superiority into goals.

Half Time 0-1

Three minutes into the second half Ajose scored from six yards out after good work from Brandao. We continued to press and had most of the game with Devlin not really troubled. Then from a long goal kick from Devlin, the ball was headed on and Ajose lobbed the advancing keeper from outside the box to give United a deserved lead. United continued to have most of the possession and a great shot from King brought out another super save from the Sunderland keeper. Then with the game entering the final stages....Dudgeon gave away a free kick on the touchline. The cross came in and Devlin made a hash of it, missing the ball all together allowing a Sunderland forward to score from six yards.

Final Score 2-2

There was only one named substitute.
