U18s new scholars 2015-2016

Must mean that Gribbin still hasn't signed a new contract if they're not showing his name.
 
Strange they are missing those players from the U18 squad.

Don't know about Kehinde, maybe he was treated as a "foreign player" now so needs international clearance or whatsoever.Boonen is going to need one.

Quietly excited about this season's first year scholars crop.Williams,Gribbin and Dearnley were U18s regulars last season and the first two are expected to make big strides this season.Makela and Kenyon were injured a lot in the last two seasons but they were rated highly before that especially Makela.Hamilton seems to be a good player and already played 10+ U18s game.Warren is also a good RB talent.Whelan looks a quality passer from the bit I've seen and I think Boonen is going to make a big impact when he's eligible to play.I think we need one more good striker though and obviously a GK.I also expect Kehinde and Johnson from the second year scholars to make up for their lost time.

I forgot about Josh Doughty, I thought he was a winger? Listed as a striker in the article.

Think Doughty's a winger.Never seen him play though.

Still have Williams though and I think we'll sign another defender for the U18s.Riley can also play full back.

It's better to be stretched than a lot of youngsters barely play any game for months.

Be great if that unit could continue to play together up through all the age groups. 18s, 19s then 21s. Maybe with Williams in CH and TFM in the holding midfield role. So impressive last season and hopefully can keep building on the understanding between eachother.

To be honest with the official fixture lists ever more sparse season on season, it's worth being a little stretched at times. Better to have to bring in a couple of loanees to cover certain positions for certain parts of the season than have an overlarge squad not getting enough football to develop properly.
 
I'd love it if we just promoted all the u18 defenders from last season up to the u21s, we rarely seem to promote players early except for one each age group.

Speaking about the lack of games does anyone know why we always pull out of the u21 PL cup and we also pulled out of that international PL tournament thing last year. With the lack of games for these kids to play surely we should be looking to be as many competitions as possible.

Moutha-Sebtaoui has confirmed his arrival on instagram as well - presume this is another case where we're awaiting international clearance (maybe Boonen too?). Hopefully it doesn't drag on ridiculously as has been the case with others (TFM, Pogba etc)
 
Not signing a striker would be a biggest trick missing, especially for the FA Youth Cup campaign.

Are this years 18s attacking mid heavy?

What would United's Youth cup team right now be looking like this season ?

Wonder if there is a realistic shot at anyway.

number 10 looks like Gribbin by the style of play, class above everyone else.....Makela looking pretty average on this clip.

There are no actual natural strikers in the u16s or u18s and the only 1 in the u21s is Fletcher its a pretty strange situation. Kayne Roberts was brought in from Fulham but he has played mostly as a winger before United. I've a feeling one of Makela or Dearnley will end up playing up front at times if we dont bring anyone in. Yeah they have a lot of midfielders/wingers with Gribbin, Makela, Kenyon, Johnson, Hamilton, Whelan and Dearnley and the higher rated u16s Tanner, Barlow and Gomes

Thanks mate. Lack of strikers might not be a huge issue then as some of the lads you mentioned could fill in there. They probably already have a couple in mind.

Might not be great for the teams performance but will help develop the individuals.

Obviously Gomes will feature heavily.Lewis Thompson might play a lot at left back as well since he's the only natural left back and we used him there on pre-season.Jake Barrett could get some games at CB if Williams moves up I think.The rest might get odd games depends on injuries.

Imo - not really. Look at the teams that have won the FA Youth cup the last couple of years and they have had a lot more established and physical players. I am not say these guys aren't talented enough, but I don't think they are quite there in their development yet.

Is there anyone from the 21s you have left off that team that would still be available apart from TFM?

Is Kehinde still at the club?

Mitchell,Henderson,Borthwick-Jackson,Dorrington,Doughty and all the U18s.

Willock,both Pereiras,Redmond,McTominay,Riley,Rathbone can feature as overage players (max. 3 of them).

Andreas is born on the 1st of January so he can feature without talking an overage space. Unless he features to much in the CL. We have not yet qualified, but hopefully will.

Andreas Pereira was born on 1-1-1996.The cut-off is 1-1-1997.If he was born on Dec 95 like Wilson he wouldn't be allowed to feature even as overage player.

Not allowed to play more then 2 games in CL before becoming illegible.
 
Tom Sang has signed for us in an educational scholarship (looks like a shade of El-Fitouri signing for me mind) and Indy Boonen has also received his international clearance so he can start featuring for the U18s.
