Notable absentees today are Byrne,Warren,Gomes (and obviously Williams).Guess Warren might be involved with the U21s on Monday.

Dorring - Sang,Reid,Dunne,Kenyon - Scott,Kehinde - Boonen,Gribbin,Whelan - Dearnley

HT: 1-1 United. We have dominated the game but lack of cutting edge as usual.

Yeah they have been toothless upfront this year.
They might be suffering from players having to be promoted. LvG has loaned out a lot of the U-21's and other being drafted into the first team squad. So a lot who might have been in this side are playing at a higher age group.

Or are they just not very good?

They have a serious lack of balance squad.Back four this game has been a CM at RB,a RB at CB and a LW at LB and they usually have to play a winger at ST.Some best players have been promoted to the U21s.

Not a really good game to watch today.Despite the results Sunderland has mostly defended the whole game.

For anyone who wonder about the individual showings, I thought Kehinde is quite good today and Tom Sang seems to have improved in the RB role although he still quite limited in the final third - not his fault since he's a midfielder.Gribbin had some good passes and roamed a lot.Not much to say about the rest.I watched the match and played poker with my friends at the same time so might have missed out something.

Sounds just like the first team?

Yeah although the lack of balance and lack of forward players in the U18s can be excused. But generally they are nowhere near that bad - individually there have been worse crop of academy players over the recent years so it looks quite weird watching them losing a lot of games.
