Loving the look of Fosu-Mensah. Classy on the ball.

Surprised by how at home Fosu-Mensah looks in midfield. Not even the slightest hint of defender-played-out-of-position-itis.

Would love a stream if you've got one, pal.

1-0 Rashford. Brilliant shot from outside the box.

2-0 Rashford. Decent free-kick. Should never have been given though. Horrible ref.

Yep, the ref has made some shockers tonight - can't even blame the conditions, terrible as they are.

Seen some praise for Fosu Mensah on twitter too. Good to hear.

How was the performances ?

2-0 FT

Plenty of solid performances, reckon I'll give my MoM nod to Redmond. Pulled the strings for us tonight.

I didnt see much defending from him to be honest, but plenty of desire and ability to get forward and use either foot. The speed of this lad
He won the ball back a load of times in the first half in particular. Has a great burst of acceleration

Excited.

That looks like a terribly placed wall!

Much too central. Keeper was unsighted for far longer than he should have been. Still a lethal strike from Rashford though. Since his growth spurt, he's become a wonderful striker of the ball. Lots of skilful young players can hit a nice curler but few put so much venom in their shots.

So where will Fosu Mensah play in the short term? DM or CB? And where will he end up playing in the long term?

Looks like McGuinness isn't too keen on breaking up the solid Tuanzebe/Williams partnership at the heart of the defense, so his immediate future seems to be in midfield. Long term the smart money would be on CB given that that's his natural position, though, obviously, that could change.

Between Tuanzebe, Cam BJ, Williams and Fosu-Mensah, this youth team will produce a first-team CB.

Just watched the first half replay (can't watch the second half due to shit wifi).Thought Rashford,Fosu-Mensah and all 4 defenders did well.Gribbin was quiet though so Rashford had to do a lot of things by himself.Borthwick-Jackson had some nice footwork. Will be interesting to see how he develops next year.LVG loves left-footed CB so the pathway is already there for him.

U16s didn't play Newcastle but they beat Burnley 3-0 today.

He hasn't played yet due to injuries and options we have but there is Jimmy Dunne as well.
