No Pereira. Did he play for Belgium this week?

Very strong side, Barmby in for Weir and that's the side we could see in the FA youth cup, with the players currently available at least.

Real shit streams available at my usual channels. Can some be kind enough and provide me a HD stream, if they have one.

Januzaj doing pretty much as he pleases so far.

Dæhli came a bit more into it towards the end there. I can't see us going another 45 without scoring with him, Januzaj and Wilson out there.

Edit: Barmby on, Dæhli off.

Villa have pressed us relentlessly all over the pitch so far, but I like how we have still kept trying to play our short passing game despite that. Hopefully they tire in the last 20 mins and space will open up for our attacking players.

Dæhli didn't look injured. With Januzaj still on perhaps it's Mats' turn to be involved with the u21s on Monday?

0-1 Weir after Januzaj takes the piss down left wing.

If this was the first team, Pearson's the one I'd get on my replica. No nonsense, touch of class, proper haircut.

0-2 Barmby pen.

I kinda see what you're getting at, sam, but obviously Tunners is far from the finished article himself.

I remember when Pearson was about 14 reading that he was very skilled on the ball but small for his age. Has he filled out now? What kind of midfielder is he?

He's a fairly complete one. Tenacious and fairly creative but his strength is probably that he keeps things ticking over at a good tempo.

FT 2-0 then. In a way that was more impressive than the Newcastle result. Villa were aggressive and beat us earlier in the season.

Pearson MoM. He was brilliant that second half, as were Januzaj and Barmby who both took the piss at times.

Pearson is a great prospect at DM. He has great technical ability, one-touch play, passing range with both feet and good awareness of space and of those around him. He also has the intelligence, bravery and tenacity to shut down the space and win the ball back for his team. This rare mixture of attributes allows him to dictate play and the pace of the game.

I have yet to see a game this year where he hasn't bossed the midfield, thats despite still being a smaller lad than most of his peers. Imagine how good he could be when he gains more strength.

6 yellows for Villa was it? Thuggish tactics.

Very good win.

I long for the day when we can import these midfielders into the first team wholesale. Pearson, Daehli, Januzaj, Pereira... and many more!

In other excellent news Ioannou and Rothwell both made their comebacks from injury today in the u17s game. Things are shaping up very nicely in time for the youth cup game in just under three weeks time.

That is good news. Where does one find such info on the u16s?

Does anyone recall the line up, for the sake of the stats thread? The match report from the official site has no line up or subs.

Sutherland, Love, Grimshaw, Dalley, Rowley, Weir, Pearson, Rudge, Daehli, Januzaj, Wilson

Bench: Gollini, Gorre, Evans, Byrne, Barmby

Jonathan Sutherland - Donald Love, Liam Grimshaw, Declan Dalley, Louis Rowley - James Weir, Ben Pearson, Jack Rudge, Mats Møller Dæhli - Adnan Januzaj, James Wilson

Thanks for the confirmation. Just between you and me, you can't trust the Drainy fellow. I think he's a gypsy.

Went to the match with my academy players, enjoyed the match and the result. The United U18's were a credit to the club, giving up time to talk to and have photos taken with my lads. Januzaj was the player they were all talking about on the way home, what a talent!!
