Boonen is with Belgium u18s for a tournament in Spain

Ah, thanks. Wondered what the hell he was doing there in the middle of the season. Checked U19 fixtures only, as I somehow thought that’d be the team he’s with.

Will be interesting to see the team tomorrow, especially the forward line. As far as I know, Burkart’s in Manchester, so something like:

Dearnley — ? — Bohui

Burkart
Tanner? Diedrick-Roberts?

Chance for any U16s to step up to the bench do we think?

Not necessarily. For example:
XI: Fojticek - Tanner, Barrett, Dunne, Kenyon - Whelan, Hamilton - Bohui, Barlow, Dearnley - Burkart
Bench: M.Johnstone, Sang, Ercolani, Spratt, Roberts

Bench is a bit defensive though no?

What a name, Gideon Adu-Peprah!

That ball from Kenton was delicious and a great touch and finish from Dearnley.

Really happy to see him back playing, superb player

feck me that is a beautiful pass. Great control and finish by Dearnley as well. Really liked him the few times I saw him before so hopefully he can kick on from the injuries now. Was a disappointed that the rare time I get to watch that the big talents are missing but tuned into see a bit of top quality from the start anyway.

Barlow is a special player. And he's a lot younger than most out there.

Can't wait to see him develop

Aaaaand Barlow gets his hat trick, 4-0. We seem okay despite missing Gomes, Chong, Boonen, Buffonge… ;)

That was a very solid performance!

Although the opponent was poor today, United were missing pretty much the entire "starting" front four + our best CB,
with Gomes, Buffonge, Boonen and O'Connor on international duty, and Chong out with a longterm injury.

If you add that Williams and Gribbin have been moved up to the U23's, it really shows the squad debt at this age level.

I also loved how hard the players worked at 3 -0 and 4 - 0, they continued to press even after the victory was secured.

Whelan was my MoM, despite Barlow's hattrick.

United is the 3rd team to have qualified for the elite playoff round alongside City & Chelsea.

I love Barlow so much, has some arrogance about him that I really like.
