Probably deserves his own thread by now. Has started the season quite well, after fitness issues hindered his progress last term (vis-à-vis Jack).

A handful of assists in roughly 400 minutes of U-18 league football as well, including 4(?) in the most recent match vs. Blackburn...

Seemed to have a good game yesterday. How is he rated? From what I've read I understand Jack is meant to be much better but that doesn't necessarily mean much at this point in their careers. I remember Fabio was always rated higher in the youth setup that Rafael for example.

He has a wonderful weight of pass. Height, good positioning, bit of bite in defence, could end up a bit in the Carrick mould maybe. Definitely one to watch.

Actually think he looks more talented than Jack - he isn't quite as sluggish when he moves.

He reminds me of his dad more than anything. Aggressive presser, good passing range and gets up and down the field. He seems effective in making runs beyond players and creating one twos when breaking away.

I like the look of him. His dad was an underrated but very effective player and I can see similarities in him.

Jack reminds me a lot of Gribbin.

Jack gets international recognition though so coaches obviously rate him. Gribbin's didn't really. Gribbin's rep was pushed by us liking tricks he did in games rather than coaches rating him especially highly.

From what I have read about Gribbin, his issue was his work-rate and dedication - not his talent.

Jack looks a bit more technical, comosed and better balance, with a better passing range. For his position (AM usually) sometimes I'm a little dissappointed he's not a bit more creative. But like I said he does show that range on occasion with some great long passes as well as the easier safer ones. Going up to the u21ss he's been getting on the end of things and scoring goals, so hes done a great job stepping up so far. One of our better transitions from u18s to u21s in recent years. Jack was picked at times for England in a proper CM position as well, so he has that versatility but he's going to be short on the defensive skills.

Tyler seems more of an actual CM who joins attack. He has a lot of assists this season, although imo mostly from good team play. Making runs forward, passing moves involving several players and usually his final ball doesnt have to be defense splitting or anything particularly creative. But the important part is its worked and he has the assists to show for it. I think he's a bit more of a runner than his brother and has played more as a CM, will be better winning the ball although I'd still say that like his brother the part that stands out if any is the attacking play. So Jack is more of the typical AM in the hole and Tyler is more of a CM who joins the attack with runs from there.

Tyler is doing well at a lower level - especially for us. Our 18s are always flying so its going to be easier to stand out than the u21s where everything is hard work and half the time we're the worse team.

To me he looks to have a higher ceiling than his brother. He just seems to move around the pitch with more ease - Jack at times seems a bit static. But huge talents both of them - incredible that we snatched them from City.

Looks so natural with the ball in his feet. Donno why but Tyler's movement in that video reminded of Possebon when he first arrived.

I think he do have that Collyer's quality of covering a lot of grounds, with a higher capacity of technical and passing so I secretly do have some hopes for him. I think he does need to be trained more defensively though if that's going to be the pathway, someone like Devaney is still more assured on this aspect.

if he has his dad's mentality for the game I think he'll make it as a pro

u18s starting to look easy for him

What about his brother? Wasn't he ahead of him in his development?

The brother is more technically gifted and has a wand of a left foot but can be slow and ponderous on the ball at times. Tyler is more complete because he has both good technique (maybe not as good as the brother) and the decent athleticism which his brother lacks.

Looks very good in the clips. Therefore wondering why he is going under the radar, or are the other youth midfielders better? Sorry, don't watch enough of the youth so have to read the updates on here.

He is playing more at u21 level where he has some goals and assists, but hes been injured/hasnt played since November

Tyler had a good game for the u21s not long ago, but has generally been with the 18s so further from first team level. The more Tyler improves the more similarities I see between them

What's his height? Looks literally a head taller than most on the pitch.

If he fills out, he could have athletic talent.

Very interesting watching these twins progress. Given that they are Fletchers that’s a good sign that they will have the mentality to make the step up when the time comes. Jack’s had some fantastic games for the U21’s scoring some screamers so looking forward to seeing more from him when he’s back from injury.

Tyler’s ability to switch the play is something our first team is crying out for so let’s hope he continues to progress too!

What a throwback now there's a player I remember getting hyped about!

Cheers, guys!
