Often doesn't work for me.

It works on IE but not on Chrome or Firefox (though I do have half a million Firefox extensions such as no-script)

Tried deleting the cache on Chrome but to no affect.

I hate it. Most times I browse the caf from work and they have got twitter blocked so I always get this same message. Haven't faced any problems when accessing from my phone or laptop.

Does anyone (non admins too) have any idea how or why it happens? Does it happen to anyone else?

I didnt realise it seems to work fine in IE until today.

It's probably Extension related, I've had a couple of PMs saying so. Haven't had a go at fixing it yet though. It actually started working randomly after I deleted my cache for about 1 refresh the other day.

Also, when it does start working, can anyone explain again how to embed tweets. I thought you had to click on the time/date of the tweet, then copy that url in, but I could never get it to work..

I feel old and stupid :(

I dunno, I've always done it this way - embed gives...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en-gb"><p>I&#39;ve come to the space world! <a href="https://twitter.com/JoolsWatsham">@JoolsWatsham</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=#MutantMuddsDeluxe&amp;src=hash">#MutantMuddsDeluxe</a> <a href="http://t.co/leFDi2kSoz">pic.twitter.com/leFDi2kSoz</a></p>&mdash; Shuhei Yoshida (@yosp) <a href="https://twitter.com/yosp/statuses/420156396114411520">January 6, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

So it's the number after statuses, I then just type (you can see this if your click reply on my post)...

XenForo is shit!

I started the other thread the other week - I eventually managed to fix it by changing an extension called Ghostery (which must've updated or something as I've had it on my Chrome for a while without this problem; and the day I first noticed it happening I still had an earlier tab open with a Tweet properly displayed). It targets tracking software and has a blocking feature which I adjusted to stop it blocking Twitter share buttons (I think) on web pages.

Now embedded Tweets display properly again.

And embedding Tweets should work like you describe - do they not display on other browsers either when you post them?

Mine appears to be caused by the avast Chrome extension. Disabled now sadly.

Do you guys remember when AntiVirus extensions were REALLY awful. They'd be a little toolbar with a search function that was shit. And constantly take over your homepage with a search site, which was shit.

Now they are pretty good. Apart from stopping embedded tweets on le cafe

It might be a similar thing then - does Avast block things being displayed on pages? If so then there might be an exception list you can set for Twitter share buttons or whatever it is blocking?

Any chance of an explanation as to why I was banned permanently from the Twitter thread for posting a single photo? This is exactly how Nazi Twitter started moan groan etc etc. Cheers. :)
