<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> After securing Barmby, he's now after his old Australia player. He was on loan at Watford last season and was released by Boro this summer. Nice to see Leeds aiming high. ;)

ROFLMAO, go to leedschat.com and read every single post in this topic: "Leeds To Sign Okon".
I laughed and laughed for 15 min non stop!

right. I was shocked when I heard about the appointment of terry venables. I slept on it and thought of the positives. I convinced myself of the ways in which it was a good appointment and how it could improve Leeds. Then the rumours started flying about Anderton and Barmby. Initially I dismissed them as tabloid nonsense that would go away when we made some real signings. They didn't go away. We signed Nicky Barmby. Again, I slept on it, thinking about the positives. I woke up this morning thinking that he could do a decent job for us and that there was no point in questioning Venables' judgement so quickly - after all £2.75m isn't too bad for a player who has proven himself capable.
So now what? Have we signed Sorin? Kleberson? Any of the umpteen decent players we've been linked with? No - the official site says that we are in talks with Paul Okon. Paul Okon. I'll repeat it again, because I didn't believe it first or second time. Paul Okon. Presumably this will go through - he's available on a free and is looking for a club. When we aren't a soap opera we can sometimes be described as a club.

Now what on earth will Okon do for us? What does he do that Mcphail, Bakke, Batty, Johnson, Dacourt, Bowyer or even fecking Darren Anderton don't? I simply don't know.

I cannot understand this at all. Wtf is going on????

Paul Okon ! PAUL f@#*&%g OKON !
We have to reduce our wage bill. Players will be let go. And Terry Venables wants us to acquire 30 year old journeyman, Paul Okon.

Batty, Bakke, Dacourt, Wilcox, McPhail, Bowyer, Kewell, Johnson, McMaster, Singh, Cansdell-Sherriff, Barmby

Who will 30 year old OKON dislodge ? Which of the above is OKON going to replace ? Which of the above is OKON better than ? With this guy (not good enough for Middlseboro or Watford) coming, are any of our quality youngsters going to get a chance this year ?

This is how El Tel operates. He is very LOYAL so they say.

That confirms it then. Keane + Bridges + $3million to Spurs for Anderton by the weekend.

Expect Razor Ruddock and Gazza to be on their way up the M1 to sign up next.

what the feck is going on Okon is a failed div one player even on a free and a YTS salary he represents appaling business,
We are going to be the laughing stock of the prem at this rate

we are honestly going to let the likes of M Bridges R keane G Kelly I harte and Duberry leave and be replaced by a player who couldnt hack it almost two divisons below

Im sory but Mr Ridsdale has simply lied to us on this one, The Judas money was promised to be spent on three or four "exciting signings" and we are seriously considering bringing in this dross. I doubt even the mighty Max clifford can spin this one as even approachinga reasonable signing

What wages will thsi joker be on to play in our reserves? or is he really going to get in the midfield ahead of bowyer dacourt bakke batty kewell johnson and even barmby and the likes of singh by my claculations hell be at least 7th or 8th choice inthe midfield (in a sane world)

i know were supposed to have faith in the manager but this goes beyond the pale, for a club with no money increasing the wage bill for a washed up failed 1st div player is ludicrous

WE ARE ASTON VILLA

ROFLMAO still reading and laughing.

What TV & PR are actually doing is giving us the best possible tilt at a mid table position at the end of next season. With a couple more buys like this we could have a good chance of a flirt with the relegation zone, the usual early cup exits ( poss even earlier this season). See, it's not all doom and gloom.
It's part of a 5 year plan!
We now need to get the scouts down to my neck of the woods. Burnley FC have a rake of 30+ year old players, and I'm sure that, with some astute bargaining, Stan may be prepared to let us have a couple. Perhaps if we offered him Kewell and Keane, we might get a couple of their second stringers.
The vibes from ER aren't too good at the moment.

My first reaction was "who the feck is Paul Okon?". My second reaction was "No really, who the feck is Paul Okon?"
After much deliberation and to try and answer the question "What possible reason could there be for signing such a player?"

The only possible answer is that Emerton is a fecking raving homo and Okunt is his love slave. He's obviously been bought to boost team moral. Yep there really is no fecking logical explanation. PR really has lost the plot now. Selling Rio took real bottle but it had to be backed up, and I mean fecking backed up. Barmby was bad enough, but this has almost reduced me to tears. I'm laughing to stop myself crying.

If something monumental does not happen between now and the 17th then I'm seriously thinking of returning my season ticket. That's truly the way I feel at the moment. And we still haven't sold any of the shite!
This could only happen at Leeds United.

Terry Venables? I fecking knew it. I just fecking knew it. I honestly think there is no way back now, and I honestly think that Oshitkon could be our lot.

Unbelievable
TC.

Sorry to the Leeds fans btw. I just find this very funny.

Hope they sign him. Our national team's captain should at least be playing in the Premiership.

Oh bugger that, this is feckin hilarious.

OKON TO LEEDS <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Don't worry I'm finding it just as funny. Because if you don't laugh you cry.

As I said before sticking red hot pokers in my eye would give me more pleasure than supporting Leeds United.

The ironic thing is we all predicted it when TV was appointed and now it's coming true.

TV must have some dodgy photos of PR or something because I honestly can't understand how a chairman that was previously ambitious is sanctioning these purchases.

Plus the fact we are 4 players too heavy and still haven't sold any we need to get rid of.

And we have 5 strikers which just doesn't fit.

It's a mess and it will get worse.

I predicted TV wouldn't last this season and would leave a wreck behind and I fully believe it will happen now.

Was it ever gonna be any other way?

It has got to be Gazza.

Gazza and Okon the sheeps immobile rotund midfield axis.

thats the last time we're giving them 30 mil if this is all they do with it. i love this mirth bonanza. good old fat cnut venables is founding his own indomitable version of the West Yorkshire Weightwatchers. Expect venables to capture a lucrative new deal endorsing low cal soups on Radio 8.

I'm confused by this statement. I thought you were a Leeds fan?

What's confusing about it? I didn't say being a fan equalled not feeling any pain.

As for Melbourne Red, you have obviously never paid any attention to any of my posts ever as I am not exactly known as a positive fan at the best of times. So it's not new I'm now being proved right.

I'll say ;)

"The thought of Dacourt, Bowyer and front players Barmby Kewell and [not as]Keane all springing forward while Okon measures one of his 40-yarders to feet is sure to excite Leeds fans this coming season."
