Dimmer than Welsh Red
Got to see both of em play last night in the Milan/ Deportivo game.
Both were returning after relatively long term injuries and they both looked ring rusty and tired towards the end. Id have to say though that Tristan did look slightly better and what a goal he got for his troubles.
Hed be far cheaper than Sheva and imo a better deal. Sheva is perhaps a bit too similar too Ruud whereas Tristan is something we dont have up front. Sort of the player Scholes should be up front, mobile and willing to shoot.
What do yis think of the two of em?

(I say Crespo play the night before too. The Italian press are apparently criticising him and Vieris partnership so their could be some unsettlement there. He was quiet but scored too amazing headers.)

Il admit i havent seen alot of either of them in awhile, they are diff kinds of players, either would be good i think, maybe leaning toward Tristan but im easy!

i think we need more pace in attack like when we had yorke and cole. therefore is no point going for tristan coz is slow. shevi is a better bet.

Vieri and Crespo seem to be doing well to me. If anything, you would be looking at Vieri (although I think he stated he wanted to finish his career in Spain).

While I watched the Milan game yesterday the commentator stated Sheva was Spain-bound. He didn't state any team (which, to me, makes it more credible than "Shevchenko going to United"). Anyone heard anything of the sort?

The second header was outstanding!

But deep down you know we didn't.

Maybe I am wrong, but would Tristan be around 10 million cheaper than Shev, because are United prepared to spend really big money i.e 20+ million that maybe Shev may cost whereas Tristan may come around the 10-12 million.

Anyway they are both top class although if pressed I must admit a slight (and emphasis on the slight) pref for Shev, but I would gladly take Tristan anyday over a Kluverit etc

Tristan for me, said that we should sign him before. He'd provide a much better combination with RVN than Shevchenko would IMO.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but the Observer had an article on Tristan this weekend the gist of which was
a)he's unsettled at present and falling out with his manager due to being a pisshead ( tristan not the manager!);
b) Fergie rates him one of the top 4 players in Europe ( others being Totti, Buffon and Zidane);
c) Tristan would like to come to OT... quote to the effect that any great player would want to play for UTD;
d) Rumours abounded in Spain this summer that he was on the verge of coming to OT on loan.

Please let it be tristan. :D
Hopefully the rumours r correct n fergie will get him to OT come the transfer window.

Tristan has the reputation of someone who "likes to hit the town as often as the back of the net" which i know to be a growing concern at Old Trafford amongst it's current player, and that would certainly work against him.

In football terms, i'd say it was to close to call, but i'd be inclined to shade it slighty to Tristan because of his goalscoring prowess, but Shevhencko would would better with Ruud, IMO

Wouldn't take either of them over Cisse, mind.

Believe me, Spanish men do not even dream of or comprehend what it means to hit the town as I know what hitting the town means. They hit the town yes, but getting drunk is not the primary objective, they do not sup pints and pints and pints of lager.

They may go to bed at 7 in the morning, but will have drank only half of the quantity of alchohol in that time as the normal English, Scottish, Welsh, or Irish man "hitting the town" will throw down his neck in less than two hours. It's generally not a problem.

Are you implying Tristan is a better goalscorer than Scheva? I think Scheva's Serie A record matches up with pretty much anyone's.
