Did anyone else see that during Celebrity Big Brother it emerged that Mark Owen had once had a trail at United?!

It got me thinking to other semi-famous people who had played or had had trails for clubs.

There was that bloke from boy-band Five who was on the books at Leeds...wondered if anyone could think of any others?

Ive just been corrected the bloke from Five actually played rugby league for Bradford!

Connery's trial at United came when he was a young actor in a play on tour at the Palace in Manchester. He was appearently very good and was offered an extended trial by Sir Matt possibly leading to a place in the team but turned it down as an offer of a film role playing some spy or other came up at the same time.

Lucky fecker, what a choice.
